    It's my wife's birthday today.
    PXL_20251117_000549020.MP.jpg

I washed her 4Runner yesterday in the 66° heatwave (washed my truck too), and I took her out to our favorite Mexican restaurant for dinner tonight. We got her favorite 1/2 pitcher of hand mixed margaritas with the good tequila, I even let her finish the last of my 2nd margarita. We went home, popped a bottle of bubbly and had some red velvet cake which is her favorite. She's pretty contently sleeping now with the quadrafire stove going.

Earlier this AM, I started hauling wood up to the patio from the wood shed.
I hauled and stacked 1 trailer load of wood on the patio for easy access during the heating season.

I then filled up another trailer load, to be brought up tomorrow after work. I'll get that stacked on the patio.

Pups had a good time today as well.
    First load.

Green roof isn't new - installed summer of 2014.

The shed is mine and is a 10 x 14 unit that was installed late 2022 - actually went up a couple of weeks after the household solar was installed. Timing was just coincidence as I contracted the jobs were months apart from each other. I had 4 solar panels put on the shed's roof a couple of months ago, but you really can't see them from above. Doesn't provide electricity to the shed, but does charge up my battery stations while keeping them out of the weather (which was the point - didn't need permits then).

Can't actually see most of the back yard because of the angle of the drone. The shed is 21' from either lot line and the backyard is around 150' long.

This morning's shop project was/is a bit of an odd one. Making a display case, for lack of a better term, for an antique Japanese doll. I got to the point where I can measure to get glass cut, then I'll figure our the rest from there. I don't like making this small stuff...have to be extra super precise and I'm not tooled up for this kind of work.

Took a crock pot full of pulled pork into work today. After our guys ate all the other trades had a sandwich or 2. Nice way to start the week with a nice warm lunch. No complaints from anyone.. 20251116_170255.jpg

I had a thought today. Since this case is is for a very old Japanese item, I can't think of a better time for a Yakisugi finish. Did a sample to confirm I like it and I do.

I got home last night and with limited daylight, hauled the trailer up to the patio and stacked and then top tarped the patio stack as I do every year. There's about a cord up there now. Good enough for now. I had to finish stacking with my led headlight on, but it's the and tractor is away. Rain came in after midnight. Getting the house and everything ready for our trip out to California. There's always a lot to do when you go out of town, and have the dog sitter come to take care of the pups. But we're looking forward to seeing her family again. Unfortunately for the wrong reasons with a funeral, but you have to make the most it of life.
