    400.1 :dex: :saw:

I don't think you can buy .325 in that length unless its cut from a roll. Not even sure a 24" bar is made for that gauge either.

I can be rather rude and/crude with them and later apologize if they turn out to be nice and prompt.

I just buzzed over to my woods and picked up a load of large splits. In anticipation of another empty hole in my shed happening Wednesday night. I saw a doe and two fawns and a small non shooter buck. Our gun deer season opener is Nov 22.

I want to get another 10 face cords rows prepared for my 2026 sales and I want it done before the bullets start flying.

This FBooker yesterday (who bought three face cords) opens up his wallet before the first piece is loaded and says

    “$100 a face right?”

I said get out your phone and look at my ad again. They always try and low ball you just like craigslist. I get $120 a face or I’ll burn it myself. It’s real simple nobody is getting rich selling dry firewood for $120 a face but in all fairness I do not offer delivery.

I’m a big fan of my MS400 and it’s outfitted with Stihl light 25” bar .375/.050. I wouldn’t think a .325 setup would do it justice. Just MHO. The 400.1 is 5cc less than the 400 if I recall.

Went to my preferred Stihl dealer today. He tells me his area rep can NOT give him a USA arrival date on the new 400.1. He also told me he sells five 462’s to one 400. He kinda mumbled under his breath Stihl would be crazy to kill the 462.
one man’s opinion but they sell a ton of saws to loggers

Ive asked 4-5 Stihl dealers around here and none could give me anything firm on the 400.1. Some didn't even know about it. Since its replacing the 362 and 400, my guess is that Stihl iswaiting for those to be sold out.

Well, I am ready to do battle. My last dry oak left the shed at 9 this morning. I have an empty spot that should hold 10 face cords.
That will give me 15 face cords that I will sell next fall. I will let it fester in the shed for 12 months give or take.

I already have 3 rows full. Some is coming off the splitter in the high 20’s some high teens. Here we go. Must be done before deer hunting!

Making good progress filling that hole. Almost 5 face cords of oak split. Nearly half way to the goal line.

Some of this oak today was coming off the splitter in the low 20’s and some black cherry was high teens. My monster woods pile is getting smaller by the day,,

That's looking great. Is that a gauge for stacking? Great idea.

Well I lied. I musta felt guilty that I’m not splitting Sat or Sun. So I grabbed a couple beers and went back out after supper. Split everything I had on the trailer. Got 8 and half face cords in that empty hole. 1.5 to go. The finish line is in sight.

    IMG_3933.jpeg IMG_3932.jpeg

And I am happy to report my old gloves bit the dust. Broke in a new pair today.

If the weather holds, I should be done preparing my 2026 for sale stash Monday evening. Gun deer starts in a week so I will be ready to throw some lead,,

I hope you disposed of them in a respectful manner so as to bestow the honor on them for which they deservedly earned.

:salute::coldfire::drunk::usa: Apologies for the emoji's I got carried away.

I usually have a glove burning ceremony, similar to a flag burning ceremony.
