Anyone have any recommendations for someone in the Kingston NH area we can hire who can go up and reattach a roof ice melt cable for us?
For medical reasons I am unable to do it and Lori's son who could help is now 3 hours away and is without a car.

House was originally a saltbox, addition in '05 created a lower roof and upper roof. Lower roof is about 15 feet up at its highest, when you stand on lower roof, bottom edge of upper roof is about 4-1/2 feet up . This is the back of the house which faces north.

Feel free to PM me with any recommendations or for additional info if needed.

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Sam

I know you said in another thread you had already found someone, so I'm happy for that.

I find my best resource for finding a local person is on a town's FB page (if you are on FB). Most towns will have someone who set up am unofficial FB page where the locals can find resources for just about anything, find out what is happening around town, and discuss things that are going on around the town. The trick is finding one that doesn't lean to more political discussions.

I got kicked off my local FB page...Not sure why, someone said their wife got followed to their house and the guy pulled into the end of the driveway...I said if you follow anyone in my family onto my property and I am home, you will be leaving in a box. Next morning I was blocked from the Columbia Station page.

I have never joined FB in any way, shape, or form. About a month ago I decided to join. There was a method to my madness. I was told I had violated their rules and couldn't join for 6 months? How? I have never logged into or posted on FB and I guess I never will. Probably a blessing in disguise.

Nope. I'm not going to plead my case when they are obviously wrong. I really don't need their "service".

I have never been on FB. The one, and only one, facet that appealed to me is that many uppy crust people who are not familiar with physical labor, post a lot of "free Logs, free firewood" in our area on FB Marketplace. Craig's List and Offer Up around here seem to be on the wane. I tried to sign up hoping to open another avenue for wood scores. After reading through a bunch of their indecipherable privacy and data harvesting language, I gave up. I have a friend who is on FB and he keeps me informed about firewood posts. I manage to score enough firewood on my own without being on FB. I realize that everyone's mileage will vary about FB. I apologize for the rant!

Although that wouldn't bother me, that "leaving in a box" may have violated the rules of that particular site. Usually they only block for x amount of time for a 1st offence. I got blocked from commenting or reacting on a DIY Solar site once for 10 days because I hit the laugh emoji.

A: It could have been a mistake since the laugh emoji is right next to the thumbs up
B: I thought the post was funny, and I wasn't the only one by a long shot. I actually checked to see before I hit the laugh as I was unsure if it was a parody or serious.

They said that I was making fun of the poster (I didn't leave a comment, just the emoji). Ridiculing a poster violated that site's rules, so I was blocked for a period of time. There was a post from the admin following that incident that explained why a chit-load of people got warnings/shut down for 10 days.

And, another point, I've given warnings to people on a site that I admin for memes posted that did not adhere to the family-friendly policy of the original creator.

I'm picking up a decent nightstand/end table tomorrow from FBM. It is either for my living room or the shed, I'll decide when I get it home. I've had decent luck selling stuff on FBM place too - just sometimes you gotta be patient because the ones looking have lots of choices to go thru.

Used to use CL a lot, but the last few times I got tired of trying to wade thru the endless ads for businesses or scammers, not for legit individuals. I don't think I've even looked at CL for a year or two (or heck, it could be longer - everything goes by so fast these days).
