Of Snow!!! I have shared many pictures of the Beautiful area in which I live, and Friday on my way home, I noticed that Sleeping Beauty (Mt Hood) had a new coat of snow. We’re only about 1,200’ elevation where we live, but “Up on the Hill”, what has been rain was White, not Wet. Less than a month ago, the ol girl was almost naked, and her new coat is far from the snow load she will have in a couple more months, but still looks really good compared to what she recently had, so I had to take a drive up Lolo Pass Rd, this is about 12-15 miles from the house On the way to the spot for the pic of Sleeping Beauty, I also stopped to get a couple pics of this little waterfall as well I am truly blessed to live where I do, and I Hope that Sleeping Beauty never awakens, and throws a temper tantrum like her Sister, St Helens did 45 years ago Doug
Oh, I absolutely do appreciate the special place where I live, I was born in 1965, and was a 70’s kid, graduated from high school in 83, and still remember, though didn’t appreciate at the time, how much Better things were when Oregon was a Red State, the changes started when I was in high school or so, and it’s been a downhill slide ever since I Love living on the mountain, but my absolute Favorite place is on the Columbia River, a Large part of my Life, especially childhood was on the river This is my second time living on the mountain, we’ve been up here almost 10 years now, and in 98-03, a former girlfriend and I had a Log cabin about 2 miles from where I live now The whole state of Oregon is an amazing place for those who love the outdoors, it has so much to offer. There are many places that I still would Love to see, but nowhere else that I would rather call Home The “Dented Skull Society “( Those who were dropped on their heads, or kicked in the head by mules, as children) have been having their Idiotic “No Kings Day” events all too often in nearby Sandy, OR Doug
Husky Man I worked for a couple of companies headquartered in Oregon, one with facilities in Portland and Springfield and another in Rogue Valley. Also a company based in Everett, WA. I absolutely loved going to the Northwest. Wife and I also traveled there several times and very much enjoyed the outdoors activities, and dining out. An absolutely beautiful part of the country. We did one trip that originated in San Diego, CA (for business) then after rented a car and drove the coast highway taking several days eventually flying home from Portland. What a beautiful trip. On this trip we visited the Mt St Helen’s site and were astonished at the devastation that the eruption caused.
