LOL, I was looking at the locations Gordon Lightfoot sang about, did not have my map zoomed in enough, and couldn't see any Straits or Canals between lakes. And no, I will NOT take a cruise, spooky to me for several reasons.

Yep. I was disinterested in cruises decades ago, all the stories made me even somehow less interested on going on a big cruise ship

Literally the only cruise I would be remotely interested in is Alaska. But I don't want to do a cruise from Seattle (or wherever) to AK, just do a cruise tour of AK itself.

Caffeine! Woke up at 4AM and couldn’t get back to sleep. We received some snow yesterday. Not sure of the total but didn’t look too bad. Maybe 4”? So, when the sun comes up it will be snow clean up time. Then moving more firewood under cover begins. And it’s time for a boiler cleaning as well. Today and tomorrow off from the workhouse. I’ll be working harder at home. You hoarders enjoy your day and stay safe.

Not even 4” of snow. Probably closer to 2. But the weather channel said we got 6”+. It was windy yesterday, must of confused them. I don’t even need to plow, but I think I will just to clean off the concrete in front of the barn good, might as well do it all and enjoy my next used work partner. HVAC cab.

I hadn't realized that you were "fostering" another tractor. :D

    Congrats! :handshake:

All tractors need a good home, and work to do. I’m here for them. That’s the kind a guy I am.

Yes, that's it! Gas doesn't own tractors, he just fosters them until a permanent home can be found!
And only charges a small rehoming fee...

The colors went quickly here as well. We got no snow this am. Now some areas of SE Wisconsin on the lake front of lake Michigan got well over a foot of snow.

We had as gas leak outside of our house. It may make been brought on my the new gas meter that was installed by the gas company this summer. Also the freezing temps may have done it too. We started smelling some gas smell, only outside, a couple of weeks ago, and only randomly.

Then Sunday it started being way more obvious.

At any rate, my wife cashed the gas company and they were over quickly as I told her they would be. I can't home at lunch to shut off the water heater as that is the only standing pilot appliance we have.

The first guy stopped by quickly and we determined that there was a leak in the supply line from the road. It was coming up from a large decorative rock at the corner of our house. The guy thought that the silver maple tree near that corner may have had its roots to break the gas line.

It was original 1969 gas line. It was plastic, but 50+ year old plastic line was brittle. It's possible the cold temperature did it too.

At any rate they were quick, and courteous. They patched the line, had a mini excavator in the yard. They did rip up the grass a little, but they'll come back and fix that, in Spring, and also replace the rest of the old pipe to the the road. I was happy to get the gas leak handled, and at no cost. I relit the water heater after work. No issues.

The first guy was a motorcycle rider and noticed my TL1000S in the garage. He rides a vstrom 1000, which shares the v twin engine block and displacement with my bike, and he recently bought a KTM 1290 super adventurer. I was shocked someone knew what as TL is. They are definitely a cult classic bike.

Over the weekend I finished cleaning up leaves. The ones I had to deal with were against the chainlink fence and around the back porch steps. I didn't waste time getting out the blower or mower and just raked them into the woodline while they were still wet from all the fog.

Since that was the planned end of leaf cleanup, I moved the mower from the garage to the shed. Because of the drought that started in June, the mower may have spent more time mowing leaves than it spent cutting down grass this year.

I’m guessing I have about 75% of the firewood moved in under the porch now.
    IMG_7207.jpeg
Hope to finish moving the rest under cover this coming weekend.
