My Wif has been bugging me to cut the prayer and a scene out of metal. Spent hours trying to work one out but the detail requires that the piece be very large. Then I realized while the metal cutting had to be large, I could print the scene and poem from my cutting program! I combined some picture elements from my files and the poem in a decorative font and then made a couple of trips to Hobby Lobby for some craft colored paper and a frame and now she is happy! She found a couple more frames packed away. Printed two different scenes. One warm and fuzzy for back east and the other kind of remote for the far west plains. I was thinking that, if there is any interest, I could post the print files suitable for 8.5X11 and 5X7 and others could print to a paper of their choice and do the same. Just a thought. Russ
That turned out great...nice job! Going back to your original thought of burning it into metal...maybe print the prayer on paper and cut out a nice metal frame that has some "scene" as part of it?
Going down this same path of thought… There are laser engravers that could likely burn that poem into a 8 x 11 paper sized wood “plaque” that could then be affixed to any metal scene for a more permanent or weather resistant piece.
I have had thoughts about the metal frame and I do have a friend that has a laser! May work some more on a frame or laser plaque but later. Thanks for the positive comments all!
