I got the septic covered back up and split for a bit this evening. One more evening should finish what I have to split. Then I am ready to haul in fresh
There was a joke in there but I just couldn't put it together.....good one Dave!!! I hope Locust Post wasn't drinking while doing the tank job; imagine finding out you got chit faced after work!!!
Well, since I only have about a weeks worth of splits left in the basement, I decided to move some wood today. Had to take my wife to breakfast for Valentine’s Day so I got a late start. Bad for me because the sun really made the exposed ground soft. It’s currently 50f here. Had to stop short because I didn’t want to mess the yard up more. I hate mud season. Peeled back the top on this vintage 7/4/22 chestnut oak. Primo splits. I’ll get an mc reading when it gets to temp. 3 trailer loads. WheelHorse did ok in the snow. Had the tires at probably 2psi. —having issues uploading pics this evening..
Got it all stacked in the basement. When I entered the furnace area, I saw this: Feel bad for this one. I can't really relocate with snow on the ground and it can't live rent free down there.
If you have somewhere you can kick down to leaf litter, or another woodpile somewhere, put him down there and let him find a hiding place. He should be able to do that before he gets too cold to move, with the weather finally warming up today.
That is some primo splits, beautiful stack and display of the FHC sign. Our mud season is usually when the spring rains start and the water table is already high...
Great work Jason! I hate mud season as well. Yesterday I was stacking and shortening some longer splits in my jig, and the sun was melting the frost in the ground making a bit of mud. You've got more snow on the ground than we do. What little we had yesterday will be gone today. Edit. Our weather looks like yours. Mostly
I know the woodyard will be a mess tomorrow, but got to get some splitting done. Our forecast for next week... Be hot Friday
Seems weird we have more snow. Been raining since 2p, what a sloppy mess! As you know, bringing the dog in will be a pain, every time he comes in we lay a towel over the carpet and make him stay to clean feet. No end in sight either.
