I have been known to use some nice mulberry splits in my bundles. It's not a big enough seller on it's own to keep it sorted out.

I spent some time yesterday cutting and splitting a pretty large maple log. It was a bit of work breaking up those rounds with the wedge on a box store splitter but I got it done. [IMG][IMG]

Looks like that round had a couple different hearts, those can be tough.

I try to market volume mulberry as an "exotic" firewood with some success. I get a premium for it. As smoker wood it barely sells.

It was a rough one. Had to keep rotating the round and take wedge-shaped pieces out because it wouldn't split all the way across. I got-er done.

Interesting idea. Have you sold in big bulk quantities or smaller amounts?

Continued the big ones last night. Just two left from that log.[IMG]

I offer quarter cords (200pcs. +/-) and have sold a few in the last couple years. I explain how it spits a lot when burned and a couple casual indoor burners said no after buying it the first time.

Close to a cord on hand inc. smoking inventory.

Sold a half cord last year and the same guy wanted another half but ghosted me after I had the wood loaded and ready to go. I still have some of that load to restack as I filled that rack right away! :hair:

Good to know! I mix it in with other hardwoods for bulk stacks. For the first time in a few years I don't have much on hand.

Weekly sales report from the roadside stand: 4 bundles, 1 each hickory, cherry and sugar maple loose stacks and 2 oak stacks, 4 2'X4' mixed hardwood stacks, 2 2"x3" stacks, 2 2'x4' loose stacks, 3 3packs of mini bundles, a 2 pack of kindling bags and a kindling bundle. I seem to spend more time restocking the stand than producing firewood. But my inventory is slowly gaining.

The inventory would grow a little faster if I had a blue Sampson to help out (or red or orange or...)

Just make that call or FBMP.
We split tons of wood with the Yard Machine and County Line splitters before we got Blue Samson

It will be a few more years before I pull the trigger. As long as my Black Diamond 27 ton holds out I'll make due.

I got a call last week from a gas station that wanted 20 bundles. They ordered at the same time last year so I guess they are now a "regular." I don't have enough bundle wood to make my typical bundles and still keep enough for the roadside stand. These didn't turn out too bad using regular bulk splits. They aren't up to buZZsaw BRAD standards but I think they will be ok. [IMG]

I spent some quality time in the woods yesterday. Took off with the Gator and 2 saws. I cut up 5 downed trees including this nice cherry. The rest were ash. I'll go back with the trailer and probably make 2 trips to bring everything home. All should dry fairly quickly.[IMG]

All nice work, my friend. Those bundles look good.
