We sell what the customers want to buy . If the want to pay for split wood , or rounds , we will sell them that . If they want as much as they can get for as cheap as possible. They buy the log lengths . Most of my customers consider it u Yes, a cord of splits is all I can do at my age daily . With the help of the kinetic splitter. Or 1.5 cord of rounds , stacked in the truck. Or 2 cord of poles .
Started off the 2025 season with the first load when my logger buddies called. The last 2 pics are 3 full cord neatly stacked into an 18' trailer and 8' box with sideracks.
Apple season ended last week, I was going to goof off and go shoot pistols when they called saying, "want some Red & White Oak" Gotta say this was difficult as the rounds weredifficult to deal with. The big log was 29" x 10' 6" long. All cut up and busted into manageable chucnks that will be split later. Generated 3/4 yard of sawdust. (1.5 tractor buckets)
Half cord load of elm delivered yesterday. First load to a regular who heats with wood. He'll get another 3-4 loads as needed.
Got the text yesterday morning from my tree fairy about an ash coming down. About a 20-minute drive each way plus I did have some other plans for the weekend but here we are. I ran the 550XP and 365Sp to do some cutting plus cut up the trunk for them while they did chipping and clean-up. Just as I got home the friend of a neighbor was pulling up with the first of 2 small loads of elm, no pictures yet. Now to finish cutting to length and hauling to the backyard for future splitting, something I am way behind on.
Yup, most of it. I actually got several good loads of wood from that location, despite being in a less than desirable neighborhood. They were supposed to have more trees taken down and contact me, but never heard back.
Still have another half cord of elm that will be ready in January even though most of it was CSS a year ago.
