We attended the Paul Bunyan Show a couple weekends ago with walt. We looked around on Friday, then Miz Carol and I went back on Saturday to do some shopping. We met Casper at the Bissell Maple syrup tent and got a case of Bourbon Barrel Maple Syrup..... Well, right next to their site was the Woodland Mills site, so we moseyed over there. Talked with them, they offer a great warranty and customer service and had a 15% show discount going on... We ordered the WG24Pro Stump grinder... It was delivered Wednesday... I got the driver to meet me at an old trucking company in Deepstep, maybe a mile from home, made it safer for him going to his next stop... Box was a mess, but it had a steel crate built around it... Safely home in the shed Unboxed, got to assemble some smaller parts... Hooked up to the Kubota L4802 eatonpcat wanted to see some action pictures... Smoothed the hole back over...
That stump grinder does a nice job! Honestly, that kind of surprised me. I think Woodland Mills gave Nate one as a demo. I almost wish I haven't dug my stumps out with either the mini-ex or the dozer.
I’m sure you will enjoy having that stump grinder! It’s a super handy tool to have. Ended up ordering replacement teeth off eBay for it as they were cheaper and looked the same than from Woodland Mills.I’ve been grinding stumps near other trees I don’t want to risk disturbing the roots on, and on my new wood roads. I’ve put mine through it a lot in the last few years, ground several hundred stumps from pine to red oak. Finally changed the teeth last spring after grinding some frozen stumps that were in the way while skidding logs. I had hit several rocks and chipped the outermost teeth, still grinding but less efficient.
Sweet attachment. Nice that you don't even have to hold it like a conventional stump grinder. Im sure you'll bring in lots of extra Benjamins with it. Do you get requests to grind stumps at some of the jobs you do?
Nice tool Jeff! Just curious if it will grind forward and reverse or just one direction. If so there’s likely a reason. Congratulations on your new piece of equipment!!
OK, Thanks. I’ve never run a stump grinder myself but have had some done by others. They used the man guided version.
I do all my stumps with my electric chainsaw. It's absolute MURDER on bars and chains. But it's cheaper than buying or renting a stump grinder, all-in.
