Exactly, hard to say “ I didn’t get/see your message “ without lying

Well, technically yes...but I know myself I will get a text alert and if I'm busy I may open it just long enough to see who/what it was about, and if its deemed as something that can wait I may not read all of it, and depending on my day, it may get forgotten about, even if I fully intended to read it more thoroughly and reply later.
Now, if I had ordered a load of wood to be delivered (for example) I'd at least try to let them know that something came up, I'll get back with you later, and apologize.

I noticed she was rather quick to see my correspondence on FB. My last few messages went unseen. Is there a way to view a message and not allow the sender to see that it was viewed?

Yes, you can make it so that "read status" is private...you can also turn on/off if someone can see while you are typing a reply too...

Oh yeah, I’m exactly the same! But I’d be lying if I said I didn’t see it or get it. If I’m busy I’ll give it a quick glance to get the jist of it. Then I decide how urgent the response needs to be if at all. And I absolutely do forget to respond to one that I really meant to. But if the first glance tells me it’s relatively important I don’t seem to forget or ignore

That one is unavoidable but I’ll bet you never sell to them again. I had a hard lesson last year when a new customer acted like he thought I was bringing him a face cord after we had had a discussion about a cord vs a face cord. Dumped the cord and he handed me a third of the money he should have. I don't sell as much firewood any more but this was the first time this happened to me. Suspected he was being a con but couldn’t prove it. There are those kind of people out there. Sorry you had to run into some of them!

The guy was on the arrogant side IIRC, but they never complained about price or volume. Helped me unload too. They were an hour one way from me and didn't flinch when I quoted them the additional delivery fee. He helped me unload at the time and his wife was nice this year in the FB messaging. Maybe he realized it was only a half cord?

We had a guy say he wanted a cord, we explained how much that was on the trailer, bring it on...
Wife and MIL hand stacked the trailer while I was at work...we get there and start unloading, about 1/2 way done, he sees how big the pile is already...asks if he could get just half the load...:headbang:...his wood shed wasn't as big as he thought it was...we agreed to take the other back. From then on, one of our full 1/3 truck loads filled his shed with some left to stack on his porch...that was 7 yrs ago and they still call.

Sounds like a true misunderstanding. Most people I deal with on firewood seem appreciative and honest. Delivered a cord last week to an elderly man who thanked me again and again saying how hard it was to find people who brought the appropriate amount of wood and wood that was actually seasoned. Customer for life!

Ooh, we made bank again this week...:whistle:
Had 2 deliveries, so we loaded 3 totes on the trailer with the :tractor:...
Front tote is restaurant quality red oak 20250930_090212.jpg
We stacked it in the rack we built for them...they had a little left over from last delivery 20250930_101946.jpg
Other 2 totes went to a repeat customer, she got a oak/hickory mix.

Been busy here. We have had a few snow falls. Only snow remaining is in the woods/shade and higher elevations. Would have to look at the schedule have just over 20 cords to deliver this week. It will be winter before long. May we all have a great season, safe, healthy and prosperous.

New customers are always amazed at the volume of one of my HALF cord loads. "The other guy was ripping me off" is a common phrase I hear.

Ill show pics and/or give dimensions in description or correspondence.
