Hey thanks! While I might've made it to the top, I'm sure it wasn't pretty. After I got to the top a group of SxS came through. I told them what I had just accomplished and one of them asked if I carry my balls in my backpack. Admittedly there was a point where I thought of leaving the bike and coming back for it the next morning. Luckily my buddies, that turned around, came down from the top to help me over about a 4 foot ledge. After that I was able to finish riding to the top. I or the bike didn't sustain any serious injuries. My one buddy dropped his bike to the low side of the hill and he went with it. "Luckily" a tree caught him not too far from the bike. Knocked the wind outta him and left a softball size bruise on his thigh. Wasn't terrible though, he was back riding the next day. All n all was a good trip but like most vacations it was too short. Got in about 160 miles of riding.
It takes a little imagination. Although, most would just see it as a pile of large rocks. For those interested, here's the first YouTube video that popped up from a search. I only watched a couple seconds but seemed they had some good shots.
A radio flyer sidecar?! Sign me up I have a 20 something hp v-twin engine from my old craftsman mower that one day I'm going to put on my own minibike, whenever I get around to building one. That would be the bike to put a sidecar on
Oh that's gonna be something. lol Former coworker slapped a Vanguard 18hp into a random go cart frame and created something dangerous. He wouldn't let his kids near it!
Finally replaced the gear position sensor. Not too bad. Had to unbolt the shock so I could gain enough access to get a wobble extension on my custom socket. Just need to take it a ride. Dash said N so that’s a good start.
Rode in a hare scramble yesterday. 3 nine mile laps are what I finished in about 3 hours. Needless to say, there was some tight single track. Averaged about 10mph.
It's not just old age. Ones last ride could be anytime. I was at this last hare scramble Sunday. They run a 50s race at 9, kids bikes at 10, and big bikes at 12. Here I am gearing up for my race, at my vehicle, and what walks by? A kid and his parents. Kid was whimpering and left arm was in a makeshift sling. Overheard his parents say they were on their way to the closest hospital. They were pretty sure it was broke. Hopefully that wasn't his last ride....
Followed me home today. Guess I will have to keep it. Will use it for milk runs to Safeway and on some of the easy National Forest trails that are open for 2 wheeled motorized, E-bike, mountain bike and horses. Will greatly expand my mushroom hunting and general hunting areas. The truth is that at 72 I am having a late life crisis and don't have enough money for a red Mazda Miata or Corvette.
