The plan was to go into the woodlot and cut up some limbs with the Echo 58volt battery saw. When I got there I found some downed pieces blocking the trail and they were big enough to make firewood out of.
A few notes on the battery saw:

I started with less than a 1/2 charge in the battery and I limbed and cut most of this up before the battery died.

Still getting used to not having to pull on the cord to fire it up.

When the battery finally died I found it was turning quite a bit faster with the fully charger battery.

Gotta keep in mind to keep bar oil in it as it runs out way before the battery does.

Cutting isn’t as fast as with the gas saws but it sure is quieter.

Where this would really shine is in a situation where a fellow had to make a few quick cuts and then stop to move material out of the way.

Or if you were cutting somewhere you shouldn’t be or something you shouldn’t be cutting…

I hear people use them at state parks for firewood. Downed trees are fair game, but running a gas saw usually draws ire and attention you don't what, even if you're not doing anything wrong.

E-saws excel for trail work and occasional cuts. They lose when its production cutting on 20+ logs

That's a decent amount of firewood on less than a full charge. Thanks for sharing

I keep one in the back of the car. I live down a 2 mile long dirt road and very often I'll come across a broken top or branches blocking the way. an electric saw comes in very hand for such occasions. It's saved me many a trip back home to get a gas saw.
