The time is nearing. Its getting closer I can feel the change coming.
I wish I had kept a calendar of when I lit the first fire of the season.

We are in good shape for fuel here. Bring it on.

Earliest I've started burning was around September 21st. I try to at least get my chimney swept by then. Some years I don't start burning until Halloween, or even early November. Judging by the forecast, I won't be burning anytime soon but it's coming. I'm just about ready mentally.

I am ready to start burning. I had the chimney swept and the stove cleaned yesterday.

September is usually when I clean the chimney. Start burning in October when the lows are in the 40’s. I’m not there mentally, but this cold azz house in the woods will make the proper adjustments.

I'm ready...lol...I've enjoyed the cooler temps and drier air. We usually have the 1st fire late Oct.

I usually start burning when it get cold in the house. That can be anywhere from September 1 on.

Im mentally ready for the burn season, but no where close to having wood staged, chimney swept. Only thing I really have ready is a boatload of kindling ready.
I usually sweep the chimney and give stove a good cleaning in thr spring. Decided to wait this year. Im going back to my old routine.
    Time to get on it.

My favorite time of the year. I agree it doesn't last nearly long enough. Clean air, oppressive heat gone. Bird hunting and deer hunting with the family here. It's great.

I need to sweep. It is an easy task for me that doesn't even involve getting up on the roof. Maybe tomorrow.
