Mom’s nuglies for this year. She’s already asking for more LOL. She has her own firewood hoarding issues :)

Guestimate around 40% Black Locust. 5 years aged. Little chunks of coal :) Should work well

She didn’t leave me much choice really. She could have six cords of my finest splits stacked in her basement and she would still be out in my processing area scrounging chunks of green oak in the snow. LOL. Never could talk her out of it. This way I have a little control over what she’s tossing in the stove :)

Easy handling pieces for mom. Good job my friend! :salute: Nice that you have an end user for them.

I have in the neighborhood of six cords of the danged things including BL. I have a couple customers for them inc. BL but that takes only two cords off my hands. I have maybe an extra cord of split and unsplit shorties for my friends stove. Been meaning to move them...for many months now.:emb: He will get most of them from now on except BL which I just got a bunch more from my recent cuttings.

I left all the cottonwood chunklies behind. Wonder if another hoarder took them? I have to go that way tomorrow and will check.

Yeah it’s great she wants them. Don’t think I could pawn them off on my sister and I carry all my wood from the basement to the upstairs. Not really interested in making trips for nuglies. Mom likes em, mom gets em, simple enough.

Must be the size. Easy handling vs a full length split. What would you do if she didn't get enough of them?

When I owned my house I would burn mostly nuglies as the customers got the good wood. I stored them in the basement and it was a PITA after a while schlepping them up.

Few years back I processed a large Norway maple for a friend that the town had removed. Ended up with a lot of chunklies. He burns a stove and his wife loved them for the ease of handling.

Those are the cleanest most beautiful nuglies I've ever seen. I understand why your mom likes them!

As I understand it she likes them to add in with every load to fill the firebox entirely.

I love burning that stuff on a cold Sunday when I’m watching NASCAR or football.

I sometimes get bored tending the fire, waiting for time to add more wood. Nuglies would help fix this.
