Thought I'd throw my hat in the ring. I'm in the middle of my prime season (Memorial Day through about Halloween) selling from my roadside stand. It is 100% recreational wood. It's been super hot this summer so sales have been below average but I've had a few really good weeks. Hoping that fall lasts about 6 months this year.

What’s your high/low temps? Will it be cooling in the evenings soon? Even if we have hot days most of the time by 10pm it’s cooled down to hoodie weather. I need it not to rain, not to be an unusual evening that stays warm and them to stay awake to at least 10-11 pm to be in the mood for a fire.

I hope you get that 6 months of fall that you’re looking for. And sales heat up for you.

Low temps have been mid-60s to above 70 overnight with highs in the high 80s to mid-90s, putting the heat index 5-10 degrees above that. It's been unseasonably warm for northern Indiana. I haven't seen hoodie weather since the middle of May! Maybe we could take an average between us and get ideal weather!

It's not unusual for people to stop by my stand for a few bundles or a small stack of wood at 9 or 10 at night but it's still been above 80 degrees at that point for several weeks.

Picked up another restaurant cooker/smoker last week. He has a specialty van with a warmer and cooler which he delivers his stuff to restaurants and does catering and such. His wife bakes sour dough bread out of the house also. He has had multiple firewood suppliers over the years and wasn't happy with any of them. I tipically pickup customers when they are dissatisfied with their current supplier. He texted me the next day thanking me for the generous rick and great burning firewood. So might have another long-term customer. IMG_1558.jpeg

It has been one hot and humid Summer here in Middle, TN. Seems every weekend it has been rainy and in the middle 90s. Not great for selling to outdoor burners. However, my restaurant and smoker customers are bringing home the Benjamins. My delivery tomorrow is to a catering guy that has referred me to six other smokers. I treat my business folks very well with 50 cuft ricks and my dryest stuff.

Today was cleaning day. We took out 4 — 75cf dump trailers of saw dust, gave to a customer that wanted some for under the much in her flower beds and some for her garden.

I had 12 other 1/4 usacks full before the first pic I took.

Two trailers worth of chafe to the OWB.

Wow Rope that at least 2 cord in saw dust :jaw: How many cord did you process total?
Here blueberry growers would love that pine to raise acidity in soil.

Thank you for bringing up the sawdust, my brain didn’t go there with the dust and chafe. But I keep a loss record for the logs that I won’t sell because they have rot, fungus or dote. I haven’t kept it for the waste of sawdust and chafe.

Thanks for pointing out the write off.

In another life I logged. He is the reason we are in the Game of Firewood. He’s indicted he wants to log and firewood for his profession. I am getting his feet wet. We’re gearing up to see if this is what he wants. I am trying to make sure we stay reverse scalable. If he changes his mind I now have toys I would have never bought. I am now looking at a Awassos MD 35. I am planning our next few purchases. Starts with a log trailer with picker, skidder like the Awassos or a conventional rubber tire skidder. We bought 9 acres for a wood lot. Things are happening.
