theburtman got another package I'm waiting on from USPS. According to the tracking it's been sitting in Saint Paul Minnesota for about 40 hours now. Maybe it'll start moving again. :hair:

Funny thing, it never departed Rush City.

On the opposite end of the spectrum.... I'm waiting on The River to deliver a package too. Both ordered this past Sunday. The River originally said it was going to be delivered this coming Saturday. Well I get home today and it's sitting out by the driveway gate.

I had something sitting in Arcadia, CA all week last week. It got to the facility on Tuesday, 8/5, and was still showing as sitting there on Friday (I checked because I hadn't gotten a delivery date yet). It got delivered this past Tuesday.

I looked at the travel history and NOW it says it left Arcadia on 8/5. This would have come n a truck (not by air), so this version is probably correct. Just weird that it showed still at the CA hub for as long as it did.

The big time gap between Tuesday and Monday was likely intermodal freight. Your package went for a train ride. (disappears or "doesn't move" for 3 to 5 days)

You used to be able to figure out from the scans why it went to a certain hub/location by what kind of hub it was (Big intermodal or airport hub nearby )
And, yeah, they don't give you all the scan points any more. And some disappear over time as they (I guess) become irrelevant.

I'm sure we were in your area but because you don't like others we just kept going.

    OUCH!

"Just kept going" was probably one of your wiser decisions after posting that comment. :handshake:

theburtman To finish up the story. Tracking got updated last night at some point. Probably when it showed up in Grand Rapids. Received the package today, somehow...

I had 3 packages coming today Fedex. Went by in one direction and then in the other direction at least 4 times.
Maybe my packages were buried. Maybe she likes the neighborhood and turning around. Maybe Fedex is advertising.
I had put two bottles of water in the freezer but she only wanted one. I had pulled them out after the truck went by half a dozen times and put them in the fridge so they wouldn't be frozen solid.

It's going to be one of "those" days. I woke up shortly after 11 pm and finally gave up and got up for good at 11:45 pm.

I see a nap in my future later today.

Depending on how warm my house gets during the day I can snooze out for a couple hours. Hope you get some rest later.

The resettled community of Little Bay Islands now has only two residents, a couple who chose to remain and live off grid. They do have wireless internet and posts some nice pictures. This one is sad yet hopeful.

A church visitor asked the pastor, “Can I request prayer?”
“Sure, what do you want prayer for?”
“My cousin died last week. Pray that God will guide him in the afterlife.”
The pastor asked, “Suppose you're taking an exam. Should you pray before the exam or after?”
    “Obviously, before the exam.”
“Right. When you pray after the exam, it’s like you’re asking God to change the grades. That is not possible because God is faithful. He cannot deceive the result. Similarly, when we die, the exam is over. We can no longer change our destiny. Hebrews 9:27 says that we die once and then face judgment. That means no second chance. I’m sorry for your relative. He can no longer be prayed for. That is why people need to understand the Gospel while they are still alive. They had to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior before it was all over.”
Sinners who believe they can be saved after death will get the greatest shock of their lives. Teach the truth because that’s the only thing that can set people free. (John 8:32)

Waiting for it to cool down so I can put the grapple on the tractor and load the trailer.

A friend of a friend has a big walnut tree down and I'm going to get a few logs out of it in the morning. Should get two 12 foot by 18" logs. I'll take them to the sawmill my son works at and have them slab them up when they have time.
