Saw a Facebook marketplace ad for free pine and poplar this afternoon that was only 5 miles away. Wood was stacked up neatly at the street and now it’s stacked up neatly in my truck. Was gone a total of 25 minutes. This wood will be sold to as outdoor fire pit wood.

Cool. I could swear there was an ad for pine and tulip here in Ct just the other day too. Or maybe I’m living in some weird Deja Vu dream world. Both equally plausible :)

Gotta love precut when its the right length. Nice grab!

Yesterday, i passed some red maple stacked right near the road. Looks to have been cut and stacked that day. A quick u turn and a knock on the door and an elderly lady saying its for the neighbor. I suggested moving it back or putting a sign on it as someone like me might think its for the taking.

You might be a wood hoarder if...

...your idea of an after dinner score is a free load of firewood!

The guy messaged me asking if I wanted more pine because he had some logs. He will cut some then haul it out to the street. I told him if he cut it and just left it in his yard, I would pick it up and save him the hassle of moving it all. Last night he messaged me saying he had another load ready for me. Grabbed this around 8am this morning. He said he has more and will keep cutting. Oh yeah!

8am is still technically after dinner :) Sometimes I’m grilling a steak at 3 am. I’ve got no rules :)

He messaged me again today. Has two more loads. Not sure if I will head there tonight or in the morning but I will be bringing my dump truck to make it in one easy load.
