This morning's pre-work project was raking rocks and sod clods getting ready to re-seed around the new porch. It was surprisingly cool and the dewpoint was below 70 for the first time in a long time. Should be able to finish it up this evening after work.

I’ve always held a special place for the A-10 too. Shame they’re going to decommission them soon. Best sound the ground troops ever saw/heard was the warthog BRRRRRRRRRR….

I had a very odd day today. I had a routine doctor appointment this morning that went well, and thought the rest of my day was smooth sailing. Wrong!
I was brushing my teeth and heard the storm door slam...twice. Wife essentially said WTF? I went to investigate. There was a roughly 3 year old boy that ran across our front porch and was getting into my wife's car in the garage. I looked around for other people and hollered for my wife. BTW, I had no idea who the kid was, who his parents were, or how he got here. And he was naked. I didn't know what else to do so I called 911. I explained to the dispatcher what was going on and after 27000 questions, she sent the State Police. Thank God! I had all sorts of bad scenarios going through my head about 71 year old pervert and naked 3 year old and I just needed this fixed! At one point there were 4 cruisers in my drive/in front of my house. The last one had the kid's parent and sister from half a mile down the road that didn't even know he was gone.
Two of the troopers said we did the right thing and thanked us for calling them.

Kiddo won 2nd place in a shooting competition recently , so proud, (only 8 other women there, but still :) ), there was a set of knives in her gift bag. I used one today and it was AWESOME! Old set is 25 years old (?) and have been sharpened many times, I don't remember them slicing as well as the new one.

I have a buddy that's an ex army Ranger. The warthogs are even more special to him. They saved his and his regiments butt's, several times in Afghanistan.

For me and my brothers, it was events like we saw in the woods with a10's flying over, and the A10 tank killer flight simulator video game. We put a lot of hours into that game.

Wow theburtman what a situation to be in. I am glad he ended up at your place and not facedown in a pond or stream somewhere.

Taking a half day tomorrow. I'll with the am, then we're going out on the lake. It's going to be stupid hot tomorrow. Friday is another half day as our friends 2nd oldest kid is getting married. The couple went to Mexico with us in March for my birthday.

Got the seeding and strawing done last night. The porch project is officially done.

Next project is to re-do the inside of my shop. No real hurry to get that done...need to let the wallet recover anyway....it's taken a real beating this year.

Heat and upper 70's dew points are back anyway...good time to hunker down inside.

Yesterday we were in the hottest area of southeastern WI, but in and on the lake in the boat.

Today, just hot again, but I'll be in the AC in the office. Friday is another half day though. We have a wedding of our friends kid to go to. It's supposed to be 79° then. Should be great weather for that
