Yes it has become a tangled mess but am thankful I have an F250 to do the heavy work. Did manage to bust a chain though.
Awesome score. I love being able to drive right up to a stack of logs. Looks like a skid loader would come in handy. Even one of those stand on units would be nice. I picked up an older bobcat (610) last year and I have no idea how we got along without it. It’s not a modern machine, but it moves big logs and makes loading a breeze. We loaded about 7 cord of logs last week in a couple hours, picking from a stack of about 500 cord. It was pretty jumbled, but was doable.
I have. JD 1070 with forks but don’t bring it down. Have thought about it but probably won’t. Got tied up with other things today and never made it there to cut. Hopefully tomorrow.
Cut and hauled two loads this morning. Loaded the first one by myself and then grabbed a helper for the second load because there were some big ones pushing 26” in diameter. Still have at least one full cord to cut and load before pulling more logs out of the pile. This makes 8 cords as of today.
I finished pulling the last of the cherry logs from the first pile. Hard to tell but this double is 40’ long and almost 20” in diameter at the butt end. Got everything I pulled out cut up. Will load and haul tomorrow. I’m banking on there being more than one full load (2 cords.)
Took two trips to haul it all out today. That makes cords 9, 10, and 11 so far from this score. I took a few shots of all of the rounds I have dropped off at moms. Hoping to get it split next week. It was toasty when I quit at 11:45 this morning. Already took a dip in the pool to clean and cool off.
Heat index here today peaked (and stayed) at 111. It was a scorcher. No way in heck I'd have been working on my wood stacks. Kudos and keep them pics coming.
