First holiday weekend fire. Took today off work to make it an extra long weekend. Worked on a few projects then went swimming with the granddaughter.

Thank you! We are very fortunate and take time to enjoy both. Sitting by the fire is such a wonderful way to unwind and enjoy the evening. I feel it brings back memories from many, many, many years ago when people gathered around the fire to cook a meal, share stores and pass down traditions.

And here’s a pic from last night in VT before a small, but powerful cell rolled in and rained. Ironically, the fire persisted through the deluge and this morning, the ash wast still fluffy.

Holiday weekend fire #2. Waiting for the fireworks to start. We always sit out at the pit on the 4th and usually see fireworks in several directions. PXL_20250705_010110311.MP~2.jpg

Started the pit mid afternoon. Plenty of splitter scraps and framing lumber to get rid of. Dewpoint was low and it felt nice to be outside. IMG_7597.JPG

those things have been through a lot! One had a tree fall on it and both survived a flood.

Another perfect Summer day here in Southern CT (save for some clouds) so I started the firepit mid afternoon and have been enjoying sitting outside on the deck. A gentle breeze keeping the skeeters at bay.

Celebrating the Fourth weekend by camping with the kids and grandkids down on the creek. We feel very fortunate that they live relatively close and we’re often able to spend time with them.

Well, can’t get the campfire photo to load. Will have to try again when I have better cell service.

    Y’all enjoy your weekend!

Back home, so now (hopefully) I can share my photo of our campfire by the creek. The kids were gathering the makings for s’mores as I took this, but they know they have to be patient and wait for it to burn down some. :( :)

Edit: Never mind, I give up. Sorry.

Not sure what's up, except that this old guy stinks at technology. Trying this from my computer instead of my phone:

Burning up some old doughty ant-infested oak, getting ready for s'mores! The tail end of the rhododenron blooms are somewhat out of focus on the far creek bank.

Warmer today and more humid but a steady breeze made it nice to be outside so i started the fire again.
