Guy who's given me loads of wood over the last several years calls me last month saying he's having a couple more trees taken down. He asks the tree service to leave them intact as his wood guy will buck and take them. "It's not Brad, is it?" they asked. I chuckled when he told me this. Turns out i have talked with the owner of the tree service. Got a text this afternoon saying they were down. He bucked them up and stacked for me. He had some heart issues and said I would have to cut them, but his doctor gave him the okay. I forgot to mention its shagbark hickory. Ill grab it very soon as the truck had stuff in it and no time when I stopped on the way home.
Yes. I'm getting too spoiled by easy scores. The guy had asked what length I liked and told him 16" from the last time. He did very good last time Within the Relm of Possibility
Yes he is a perfectionist. I saw chalk marks so he did a layout. I've seen his work at his place and takes pride in his work. Would you believe he bucked this with an electric chainsaw?
Had a little time this afternoon so grabbed half of the rounds and split off the PU at storage. Heartwood saved for smoker wood as well as nuggets. Ill get the rest tomorrow.
The Notorious Buzzsaw Brad. I’m lmao!! Buzzy buzzy buzzy can’t you see, sometimes your scores just hypnotize me.
That's the best part. I am far from picky on lengths but every time I have had someone else cut I end up with 10" to 24". Brad gets rounds cut to within 1/8".
Yeah, but is it his Reputation, or is it the tree service guy knows that Brad is a Stihl guy, and if he doesn’t buck it for him, it might not get cut Them Stihl guys like to talk poopy about Huskies losing fasteners, Stihl don’t have that problem. If it won’t Start/Run, there’s no Vibration, ergo, nothing works loose Doug
Grabbed the rest yesterday afternoon. They halved easily with the Isocore. Ill split it tomorrow morning.
Split the rest this morning. Decent amount of heartwood splits moved next door for smoker inventory. Ill stack the rest this week.
