I haven't installed my living room or bedroom window A/C units yet. A fan at night suffices. Two of my window A/C units are the Midea that have been recalled. Maybe today.
I really need to close up the house in this more humid weather, but I rather prefer all the windows open. . I don't have a piano to care for but mold grows on all kinds of things in this awful humidity. If I'm gonna run a dehumidifier I may as wel run an A/C. Not a fan of how the air gets 'stale'.
Heat during the day doesn't bother me much but as I get older I'm really liking a cold room to get to sleep. Cooler and dryer.

Power was restored earlier than expected
Like 3:30 am. We were totally prepared and the house stayed just cool enough.

Today is so much better for temps here. Highs will be in the 70's only!

Last night's lows were in the 50's.

Relief is on the way :handshake:

Today is the worst, then relief overnight. The garden is watered and the treadmill routine complete. Chillin in various ways is the plan for the rest of the day.

That is hot for Maine. I don't dare open the door and let any of that air in. Some places will reach over 100F. I think a lot of my plants will get sun scald.

    .
Your stylin' though with you heat pump and solar though, right?

Recall that portable swamp cooler I bought a few years ago, got the one with the manual dial? Had to replace the pump but we run it every summer- regarding no AC in Wyoming. Except it only uses as much electricity as a fan, not an AC unit.

This! It's best when you are tired, hot and thirsty and darn near anything would taste good.

Records were broken yesterday - I'm between Concord and Lebanon basically

    Record heat 6-24-25.jpg

First time since 2011 that the temp has officially reached 100* in most of the towns. Concord broke the daily record set way back in 1870.

Manchester was an overachiever by breaking the high temp for any June on record.

Definitely the mini split has been earning its keep the last couple of days and will again today! And, can't complain about the solar production running the AC

A huge noticeable help was the paint job to the exterior of the house last fall - a nice light color instead of the brown. Also helpful was the curtains along the back porch, to keep the east sun at bay.
