Hello Now, the battle starts to keep the animals away! What have you done in this regards? A few years ago I added fencing to make the backyard fully enclosed. I added solid bricks under the fence to make it hard to sneak in. See 1st pic. Also repaired a picket Then found a pressure treated 4x4 to put in the gap between the 2 neighbor’s fence in the back of the yard. Anyone use chemicals around the garden such as repels all? https://www.homedepot.com/pep/Bonid...8ZyDGxuuRpkHmEY2H8Dwvb6_TID5boqxoCV2QQAvD_BwE Any other suggestions? What about under the fence door to the backyard?
8ft tall fencing to keep the deer out, 24" snake fence (1/4" hardware cloth) along the bottom. Bottom of fence is buried, layer of rocks, then a layer of clay dirt. The raised beds have 1/4" hardware cloth under them to keep the moles/voles out.
Rabbits ate my cauliflower & broccoli. I tried deer & rabbit repellent - looked out & a rabbit was sitting in a pile of it.
My wife buys hot pepper flakes by the bag and spreads it around. Stopped the squirrels from digging up bulbs and keeps the rabbits away from the lettuce.
If you can’t or won’t shoot get a gallon of coyote pizz. A trapping supply house will have all you could want. Doesn’t take much and is a nice deterrent around the garden and keeps mice and other vermin away from sheds and pump houses too. Not a fix all but another good tool in the chest. Owl
