    Congratulations, Gas. Nice tractor.
I bet that cab is nice. Looks comparable to the L4802 we got. Kubota had the 0%/60 or 1.99%/84 when we got ours in April. We've got about 77 hrs on ours now.

I have about 47 hours on the T474 now. Nice small rig for getting around in the woods trails and other tight areas.

I have learned several times that you will be sorry when you sell your backhoe. They are so handy. Like today. My next work partner’s new (old) big brother had to step in and help out a little……. IMG_6885.jpeg

I have heard so many people say that getting a backhoe is needless......just go rent one when you need backhoe work done! Heck, even every dealer I have spoken with over the years has told me the same thing.

I can only think of how convenient it would be to just turn the tractor around once you need a hoe instead of stopping work and then going to rent one every 3-4 weeks.

I have said this myself. And was going to do it myself. But having a machine this size around for both loader and backhoe work is so nice. This wasn’t too far away and the price was right, so I just bought it. It may be old, but it can still do some heavy work!

If you can use a backhoe every couple of weeks then you are in the position where you would benefit from owning a backhoe

Problems with my TYM. Here we go again.:confused:T474HC has less than 50 hours on it and it’s in the shop. Keeps losing RPMs to the point of almost stalling. Took it to the closest TYM dealer and asked them to do the 50 hour service and find out what is going on with it.(47 hours) They completed the 50 hour service and I think it was $390ish dollars. No problem. They thought they knew what the problem was and showed me how the hydraulic filter’s insides had collapsed. What? Said they never seen it before. Must of been a defect from factory. Me either. Never seen that before. But everything worked fine now when they drove it. Brought it home and found time to use it the next day or two. Did a little moving of sticks and stones in the bucket and after 10-12 minutes I started to do some back dragging to level the area off. RPMs dropped to almost nothing again and kept doing it. I had to drive it back slowly to the barn. Called them up and they said okay we will come and pick it up. It’s been two weeks tomorrow. They are a busy place. I get it. They told me last Saturday that they thought they would get it in Monday and have it back to me Monday or Tuesday afternoon. It’s Friday. Frustrating. To say the least. Just dam depressing, souring my mood toward everything. I have literally mowed grass with it, moved a couple buckets of dirt, rocks, sticks, and turned the horse manure pile several times. About 47 hours on it. No response when I call them. Get answering machine and it says to leave a text. Did that. No response. Just lost on what to do. Wait. I guess.

I guess I should have spent the extra $20,000 and bought a new Kubota. Or better yet. Bought a used Kubota about the same price. :picard:

I would be gutted if I was without my NEW tractor for weeks. Hope you get it sorted out soon. Your story made me think about my experience with Vermeer. Many years ago their service was top notch. The chippers were not great, but they would fix issues and get it back to me within a day or 2. They also communicated well and answered the phone always. If you’re running a tree crew there’s not much you can do without a chipper. Management changed and service went to chit. We’d drop the chipper off and they would talk about how backed up they were, short on help, supply chain yada yada yada. No calls, no updates, not answering the phone, not answering emails, nothing. The shop is 30 minutes away, so I couldn’t just stop by. Eventually I got in touch with a regional rep to get some responses. After going through the same process and stress a few times I contacted corporate. I told them the reason I bought Vermeer was for exceptional service and now their poor service was the reason I wouldn’t consider buying another Vermeer machine.
Service is everything and sometimes just a phone call with an update is adequate. Ffs at least send a text with an update if you’re worried about a tense phone conversation.

Normally I would have put 125-150 hours on my tractor during June, July, August and September. But this season I’ve been busier working overtime, helping a brother, caring for my Mother, etc. So I have only been using the tractor when I find a little time here and there. Not even any harder work with it yet. Now I have time to get to work with it and I can’t even use my new tractor.

Update: They answered the phone just after noon today. They said the mechanic is not in today, but he has it in the shop and computer system as being worked on. They will call me Monday morning when they get brought up to speed by talking with him.
