    Nice to teach the kids that snakes are nothing to be terrified of! Respect based on knowledge, yes, cautious as to kind of snake, yes. But not just unreasoning fear! A likely looking crew you have there!

    What kind are they? I know very little about types of snakes.

    They are non poisonous black rat snakes, which we get here all the time. The largest one was kept by GKs overnight and fed a mouse this morning, then released. No doubt they will be back knocking on the door soon
