The 452 is just about complete. I might have to open up the bar oil hole on the bar. I like the matte silver header paint on the muffler vs black on this saw.

 

I ended up replacing these items because they were damaged. That is the chain needed for that NOS partner bar.

 

Here is another recent acquisition. Unfortunately it has no spark.

 

Almost forgot. I replaced the pull start housing on the CS452 because it was cracked.

Thank you brother. It starts and runs so well. I haven't cut anything yet to get it tuned crisp.

 

I'm on the hunt for a specific old echo saw. Preferably complete and running. Echo CS-315. If anyone finds one for sale please let me know.

That's what I've seen as well. I've owed and worked on many saws of most brands.

 

Well I figured out the oil problem. there's supposed to be a line on that nipple with a strainer on the end. It pumps oil like crazy when tipped on its clutch side. lol. An Arborist site thread led me to it. Getting the strainer out is going to be something.

 

Fixed. I'll get a vid of the old girl cutting at some point. On to the CS-400...

 

Rain kept me in the shop so saw tinkering commenced. The 400 cleaned up really nice. Fires right up. Currently not oiling.

I did a mild muffler mod and removed the carb limiters.

 

Bingo. 400 oiler problem.

 

501P main chassis all cleaned. Next will be the dying of all plastic to black.
