So, just looked up rock County, then weather.com for Janesville. Showed sunrise at 5:40 this am. Yall are a whole 30 minutes before us here. So, that would make shooting light at 5:10. Man that's early....
Sunrise is 540 am. I got up at 3, left house at 4, walked about 15 minutes to my spot. I had a flashlight with but didn’t need it. Eastern sky was red when I walked in. I heard turkeys flying down at 510,,,,
Congrats to all the successful Turkey hunters this spring! 2024 was the best season to date for my son and I. Two field Tom's from a blind a half hour apart on opening morning April 25th My son tagged out on day 2 with a run and gun Timber Tom and I tagged out a week later with a second run and gun Timber Tom.
My Wisconsin turkey permit starts on May 14. As we speak, there are 3 toms strutting about 60 yards from my usual ambush spot. Wonder what the odds are they will be there on May 14?
This is a crappy pic for which I am sorry. But there are 2 toms along with some hens about 70 yards from my spot. Right on the woods edge line. Taken from my deck.
to the right of the knob almost to the south tree line high of 84F here Wed that’s too darn hot for turkey hunting
