For once it wasn't raining so I got some stuff done. One thing that has been waiting over a month was putting the P61a to bed. Most of the pellets that were left in the hopper had already been transferred to the P43 so I didn't have to deal with that. I cleaned out the ash, cleaned out the fines box, capped off the exhaust outside, and removed the OAK (blocking both the pipe from critters and the air intake to the stove to keep summer humidity out.

I did not do an LBT or run the soot eater thru and will need to do that next fall. I wrote myself a note on a sticky about that and put it in the control box.

P43 is still running at times - just started up a few minutes ago since it is in the 30's this morning.

Ah more medical fun. Have been feeling very tired over the past couple weeks. Early Thurs morning I was feeling awful and Lori says we should go to ER.

At ER they say my BP is high (170/90). Then they run some tests where they take my BP laying down, after standing up and after standing for 2 min. Drops to 140/80 standing up, drops to 130/79 after 2 min. So they decide to keep me in for observation and do a chemical heart stress test on Fri. Have the stress test, heart is fine, no blockages, muscle is functioning as it should, good blood flow.

Now over the 2 days they are getting very high BP readings, like 189/100. Finally one doc says he doesn't trust the auto BP and told the nurses to do mine manually (using stethoscope ). Now all my BP readings are around 25-40 points lower.
One doc did the laying/test using auto. Laying was 169/100, then standing was 89/70. Doc looks at the screen, looks at me and says "no way that's accurate, a 70 point drop should have you on the floor right now". Did it again manual and laying was 115/90, standing 100/80.

So they send me home but they didn't really figure out anything. Didn't alter my BP med at all, said to go slow when moving from laying/sitting to standing, wear compression stockings during the day. Now I don't trust that my BP was ever high enough to be on BP meds at all.

And the other part is all the docs I've seen recently have ignored my symptoms of fatigue, gas, bloating, pain, nausea, unintended weight loss. Checked those symptoms online and they all point to me possibly having an h.pylori bacterial stomach infection. That can also cause back pain. So calling a gastro doc today to get an appointment. Sad that docs today just don't seem to want to listen.

Surprised what that 81mg aspirin did for my BP. That and 50mg losartan have my BP @128/72. My old doc had me on 100mg and 5 mg of another(CRS gotz me with its name!!) that gave me the woozies and wonky walking BS. BP was never lower than 150

Doc says I'll likely just need the aspirin with more weight loss and ditching the smokes. But fat boy luvs his cookies and ice cream! Only complaint on the aspirin is I gotta watch taking it on an empty stomach or me getz belly ache!! But I guess taking it with a cookie isn't correct. :(

Ah the fun never ends. Went for the back MRI this morning. Ended up not being able to do it. Pacemaker tech had an order from my cardiologist to set my pacemaker to 80 bpm for the MRI. Except I was sitting there with it at 115 resting. (Gee wasn't that what I went to the ER last week for?). They couldn't override the order and couldn't get a hold of my cardiologist so it gets rescheduled. I'm not sure I want to until I can see the cardiologist myself to try and figure out wtf is going on.

Beginning to feel like my hospital stay last week was mostly wasted. Yeah the stress test shows my heart is in good shape but 5 days later I still feel the same and my heart rate is still high.

Good luck Sam. Its very true when they say "you need to be your own advocate" these days.

I went thru similar but different a year ago (almost to the day). Came very close to looking up at the grass instead of down at it, if you know what I mean.

Come to think of it, I went through VERY similar in 2022 with heart issue which ended up being congestive heart failure.

So gastro doesn't think it's h.pylori, said I would be having severe diarrhea. Having a combo endoscopy/colonoscopy on Friday. Doc thinks it's gastritis ( possibly from Advil usage) and a lack of fiber which is causing the infrequent pooping. Will be on some acid reducing meds after the procedure on Friday. Said it can take a couple months for stomach lining to heal. Also getting a CT scan of that area set up, have to get prior authorization from my secondary insurance (Humana).

Waiting to hear back from cardiologist as to what they have to say about my heart rate and BP plus if it's ok to have the procedure on Friday with my high heart rate.
