Finally pulled the Japanese radio from the Japanese mini truck. It is not set up for USA frequency so all that is heard is static.

Anyway, I'm looking for a single DIN (refers to the size) am/fm radio with built a built in speaker. That's all I need.

Any recommendations would be appreciated, thanks!

Not sure I've seen a single din radio with built in speaker. I assume you wanna listen to the radio. A single din radio and a seperate speaker in a small box, if you have extra room for the box. How about a spot on the dash to cut a hole to mount a speaker?

I haven't seen a single DIN radio with a speaker built in, but I've never looked for that either.

I say just get a single DIN stereo and wire in and mount a couple of speakers, like pod or surface mount speakers and be done with it

Don’t believe I’ve ever seen an in-dash, be it single or double din radio w/ a built in speaker.

single din with built in speakers is gonna be tiny speakers that sound like sh!t. You might prefer the current static.

My wife's son just picked up a mini truck. When he puts in a system, I will get you the info! Most likely won't be single din though!

We get aftermarket Amazon radios from time to time. We tell people we’ll install them but we won’t warranty it in any way. Some are $1,000+ too. They are hit and miss.

Be sure to know the return policy/tech support from whomever you deal with when purchasing.

I run these in the buggy. They suck, but play music and are weatherproof. All I need from em.

    Thanks to all!

I did consider units with remote speakers but decided against it once I heard this unit's sound.

A couple of customers included a video of the unit turned on in their reviews; it actually sounded good. Remember, I do not want a system that can be heard before anyone sees where it is coming from..........there's enough of those idiots that have them on their boats and even a couple of business's on the lake that constantly play their music way too loud!

I did see this one through amazon but like wildwest says, it has no am band. Not that critical, but sure beats wiring in and mounting an extra pair of speakers that would probably end up being in the way in the small spaced of the mini truck. It has a lot of features that I will never use. as far as the controls go, I wish it had the old style volume/on/off knob and the tuning knob........that's all I want.

eatonpcat congrats to your son's purchase. Post a few pics every now and then!

My buggy has a premade spot for round marine radios so that's what I was confined to. Luckily it has a weatherband channel (I do use it sometimes). It's not for when I'm riding, but for when I'm working near it. To hear it while riding requires volume that my humble setup is not built for. lol

Just had breakfast with him on Sunday...I think he has decided to clean this one up and sell it. I believe it is a Honda and it is a little too tight for him. Said the Subaru's (I think) are a bit bigger, so he is now looking for one of those.

Congrats on finding the perfect radio for your truck! wildwest is great with the Amazon searches.
