Kubota BX series advice

Understandable. It's one thing not to get a callback from an E inquiry, but if they have not returned your calls I understand your frustration.

Dunno if you've considered or already have something. These things are force multipliers behind a tractor or buggy...

 

100%. A tractor with a loader is easily the smartest and most useful purchase I've made.

Funny story... I have a good friend who's 20 years my senior. He bought a new tractor back in the 90's. A 33 hp, diesel Cub Cadet. 4x4, ag tires. No loader, manual transmission. Anyway, I've bugged him about getting a loader tractor ever since. "I have no need for a loader, I don’t dig". Mmm hmmmm sure. He uses an electric fork truck to move pallets of firewood around. Had to have his whole driveway and areas from the pole barn to the house concreted to use it AND he wrestles around a DR Power brand powered wheel barrow contraption. Still claims he has no use for a loader. That cub almost always just sets in the corner of his barn because he has practically no use for it without the loader. Some people are odd.

 

I've been looking at those online recently. I could definitely use one behind the deere garden tractor in areas the Kubota won't fit.

The one I have is labelled as a Bannon (come from northern tool). The one I recommend is the Gorilla GCU-1600 with 4 tires instead of 8. I plan to convert mine sometime.

Aside from that...just about any trailer that will hold at least a quarter cord of wood will do. These expanded metal units are pretty nice though. Saw and tool holders with a place for fuel even. I had to get one due to my buggy's bed being smallish and even smaller with my 'essentials' loaded. Heaped stack of splits on trailer with a bit in the buggy bed is roughly equal to 1/4 cord. You can remove panels to make it into a log bunk or flatbed even.

 

I don't know what I'd do without mine now. Thouroughly dependent, I am.

 

Same bud. Heck, I even used it to get my new 190# grill up on the deck 10 steps up. Lol.

 

I moved my tractor out to the "farm" last weekend and I'm seriously missing it here. I might need to get a "house tractor" too. I'd probably get a B instead of a BX though. BX operator station is a little snug for me being on the taller side.

 

I really like the 2601s. Little workhorses and no 'crap eaters' on them.

the Bannon- stay away from get the gorilla cart. Same thing but better tires. If you search YouTube, i have about three vids on my experience. There were no videos about them when i was checking them out. I ordered one from Northern Tool. The tires get bad reviews, but Bannon still has them unless the finally changed.

lukem , RCBS and others. Have contacted some marketplace sellers in nearby counties. Pretty much decided on getting one with a loader. No way you can buy a tractor cheaply enough and add a loader later. Found a ‘15 model that grandma no longer needs with 30 hours. Realized today, i have a cat 1 woods rough cut and finish mowers for a Yamaha Terrapro i have.

Trying to sell that now, but i think i will keep the finish mower for tough to get spots. To have it with hydrostat would be handy

Well i settled on the 2015 BX 2670 with mower and loader. Picking it up tomorrow if rain holds off. Located in county north of me and just about as remote.

sold the Terrapro to a couple who are tree farmers. Nice to have that hole in my shop.

 

You need a parts mule?? LOL My dad was one of the few adopters of the Terrapro platform. The quad is long gone but I still have the FM-48 mower. It's a little tweaked on the mount arms from an incident while hauling but the rest of the unit is solid. I been thinking of putting it on craigslist to see if someone wants it. It's scrap to me at this point, but possibly useful to someone.

 

I dislike them on larger tractors...absolutely get yourself a quick hitch for it.
