Hey Gasifier how does that new holland compare to the kubota tractors you've had in the past?

It seems to be a good tractor, so far. But I have been waiting for it to dry up around here to really put it to work. Now that it’s starting to dry up I’m busy with work, family stuff , etc. I have only put about 6-7 hours on it. Has good power and traction. We shall see soon. Hopefully. If we don’t get too much precipitation.

If they are like our county roads that's a low bar!

I had a near miss on my tractor last Saturday. I was brush hogging in an area that had a few large oaks. A branch was hanging down and I knew the ROP/roll bar would hit and slide under. It was small, 1/2" and leafy and green, healthy right? Well it got caught on something on the ROP and next thing I know there was a big snap and crash and I was covered in oak branches and leaves. The branch that little branch was attached to came off the main stem. It was a foot in diameter and 25' from tip to tip. Luckily it all fell behind me. I had to walk back for the chainsaw to cut up and free the tractor.

The branch was completely rotted out inside. The bark must have been healthy because that branch was fully leafed out. I have no idea how that branch survived the wind storms we have had lately.

I spent about 4 hours on Saturday adding / moving / grading gravel on 3 driveways. Luckily everything is flat so I only have to do it to knock down the weeds and get it looking nice. My uncle has 1/2 mile though the woods and none of it is flat. He spends a LOT of time fixing washes.

I thought about getting a little slide on when I was there, have to admit.

It's work having a long driveway, but it's nice to have the privacy.

I mowed Tuesday after work. Looks pretty good, despite not sharpening the blades yet this year. I'll need to put the weed and feed down one of these mornings when there's dew. There's no sight of rain for several days. Then last night I added a fence to the far left wood shed bay. I'll do that to all three bays eventually. That way I still have a fence of I empty out the wood from the bay. Then I stacked all the wood I had in the bay, mostly Honey locust that had a year of drying outside. That wood made a 4ft tall fence in the back row essentially covering up all the work I did.

Next I'll move more wood into that bay. Probably tonight.

Don’t remember what year you visited; remember the visit.. in 2020 dug 12-16 inches down, laid road fabric and add 350 yards of good material (5/8 minus). Next year after it packed Shur packed the top..
Old material washed away every thunderstorm and annual mud season was tough.
    But it’s
