Yes, remember them well, still keep/use them here.

Turns out the white with red tin cans with spices for baking/cooking I mentioned earlier are McCormick :)

When I was a young boy, I can remember both of my Granddads dipped snuff

My Grandpa hand rolled vanilla tobacco cigarettes. I think it was the Prince one. Anytime I smell vanilla with cigarette smoke I go though a time warp knowing that scent so well.

Snuff had a bit of a resurgence in the early seventies . I remember trying some "because everyone was doing it" (It may have been tobacco free ) and thinking it was kinda dumb to be putting stuff up one's nose. I didn't smoke either so there was that. Seems to me it was a bit of a fad that died rather quickly.

Never heard of anyone putting snuff up their nose. Both my grandmother's and my mom dipped snuff. I remember as a kid every time one of us got bee stung, they would rub snuff spit on it. It would instantly kill the pain. No pain, swelling or itching, just like it never happened.

Yeah, it was ground really fine and came in a small tin. It was like dust or powder. It was popular in the 1500s/1600s, too, especially in France. With those that could afford it I suppose. Likely not many commoners/working class.
