38f20 does that truck have air bags under it?

 

It doesn’t. It’s a 1 ton and handles the weight pretty good. I pull a 42’ fifth wheel with also and no problems.

 

I was wondering the same...that load on my 250 would have er doin the squats a bit.

My old f250 did squat a little more than this track does, but it still wasn’t bad.

 

That load on my half ton would have the front tires in the air lol. I have used a 1 ton dodge for a few loads and it definitely sagged more than your Ford does, with a little less of a load also

 

Took two loads of rounds home this morning from a job I did removing some elm trees yesterday. Pic is what’s left to still get. Heavy wet stuff!

My good friend went and bought a nice new dump trailer, and was kind enough to take us to the woods. Filled it up with ponderosa pine. About 1 3/4 cord. I kinda like dump trailers!

I'd guess it's not too often people get to harvest firewood from trees that they planted...but here it is, a couple hybrid poplar trees that I planted back in the early 2000's. They lived long enough and got big enough to accomplish my goal for them, which was some big trees in the backyard, fast. I then planted some white pine and red oak trees too, which they are getting big enough now that the poplar trees can go away, and 2 of the 10 I planted volunteered themselves for firewood...somewheres in the 16-18" dbh range, and maybe 50-60' tall. I'm guessing I'll have 1/2 cord once all split n stacked.
I'm always looking for more "shoulder season wood" so I'm not mad about this.

 

Nice that you got to harvest that. Did you plant any black locust Dave? Fast growing stuff. You knew I was going to ask

 

Ha, no I haven't...those are invasive, so I wouldn't plant them on my property here (only 2 acres) but there are certainly some around...there's some on the home farm still, about 100' from my brother's house, so he'd likely end up with them, which that's fine, I'm not gonna freeze any time soon! Lower BTU species is the larger part of my wood furnaces diet anyways. It's just what works out the best with our setup.
