Hi everyone! hope all is well. I am currently looking at a Castile stove with issues. When its plugged in and not calling for heat, the combustion fan runs. When it is calling for heat, the combustion fan still runs, You can hear a relay click sound from the gray control box (#7000-160) at which point the red control light dims a bit the combustion motor slows for a split second then comes back on. almost like its being reset repeatedly. I've jumped out various components with no change. There is airflow for vacuum. I'm beginning to think control board. Anything else i should try? also this particular control board is looking like its not available. uh oh. Thanks in advance! Joe
When you plug the stove in, combustion blower should run for about 12 minutes and then shut down (not calling for heat). If the fan just keeps running continuously after 12 minutes or so (not calling for heat) the board is bad. Double check the igniter and the wires and make sure the igniter isn't blown out. You can replace the board with the new style 3 speed boards, you just need to put the selector switch on the correct number (for the model Quad stove)...paperwork would be included with the board.
X2 The new clear control box should fix the issue and is a good upgrade. The upgraded control box also resolves CSS! That is the infamous Cold Start Syndrome! !!! See link below! Quad Contour not firing at 22 Deg F another issue! Saga continues - Fix Found!
