Nice load! Even though average btu's hackberry on my bucket list to score. Kinda rare around here. Gotta change the name to a "Stephie gate"
Yeah, so so BTU's but that's what I need right now. Almost my entire stash is high BTU stuff plus I may do a little selling this fall to help pay for all the toys being purchased. I do miss the extra Benjermin's we had when Lefty was alive.
This is one ugly load. Short cookies, ugly chunks, twisted knots and root flare oddballs of red oak. Space is at a premium at my place so my uncle will get all this ugly oak.
It burns the same but still a PITA. I tire of short and nuggets. I have close to five cords of the dang things on hand now. I have a couple customers for them but none of my others sold this Winter. I've been giving them to my friend where you came for that elm. Ill bet he now has a cord of fresher ones with more to come as I process wood. An annoying by product of our way of scoring/processing wood.
I wish I had my pickaroon at work today... so I could reach the bottom of this crib! I took all of the nail-free firewood size stuff I could reach. It took quite a few trips of filling the rear floorboard of my work car and shuttling it to my personal vehicle in the parking lot.
I used to leave the shorts and uglies but our neighbor Lady has a small insert and really likes the small chunks. I split the cookies into 4x4 pieces for her and she's in hog heaven! She also loves the small uglies and splitter kibbles for starting fires as well as Doug fir bark chunks!
I used your pickaroon idea today at one of my sources for lumber cutoffs. It worked great and better than dumpster diving.
Load number two of white oak for the day. I believe this might be what is considered Goldilocks. I have to thank Chuck(Retired Showerguy) for this load, since I cut it at his camp!
I got a video of that last tree, I’m gonna try to add it.. Welp,I guess I need a 9 yr old to help, cuz I can’t figure out the add video thing.
Cleaned up a pine tree on the property line with our neighbors. 2 loads of rich fat wood pine. Not sure what I'm going to do with it yet. I already have several years worth squirreled away.
I haven’t had a pickup load of wood to take a picture of for a while. I got to do 2 today. Doug fir off of the family land of a good friend of mine. We sent him home with a cord and a half or so on his trailer. My 2 loads went right around 1.25 cord together. I had to make the return trip in the half ton because my front brakes were seizing and getting really hot on the 3/4 ton. I knew they were going to need some maintenance soon. I am grateful for the time with a good friend and for 2 old faithful pickups to haul my hoard home in.
