Mt. Soledad Veterans' Memorial on a mountain top above San Diego Naval Base. One of, if not the best, memorial I've seen.
A few years ago, I was fortunate to have the Vietnam traveling wall setup one town away. Very humbling experience. Simple, yet powerful and emotional.
In Brewster Ma, at Crosby Beach. We were looking for sea glass. Mrs MikeInMa found a couple of pieces.
Suggestions please? Kid is in yearbook club and is very interested in photography. The school ones they use are Cannon EOS 100. I'm looking for something similar, like a basic kit. If she takes off with hobby, something we can add onto in coming years. Thank you PS, Birthday is in July, so if there is a certain time of year they go on sale between now and then I'll wait.
I bought a new hybrid camera a few weeks ago. It's a full frame Lumix S5II. I wanted a full frame camera over the apsc sensor but what I really wanted was a view finder in addition to a flip out screen. I find it difficult to nail focus on the screen without having to put my glasses on. With the view finder I just had to click a dial twice to sharpen up the image to my naked eye. Anyway I took this pic of the early sun hitting cherry blossoms this morning but when I loaded it onto the computer I realized that I never set up the photo settings in camera (I use video 99% of the time) so the image came out in LOG which I then had to add to my video editing software to switch from LOG to Rec709 to recover the colors lol. You are blessed to live in such a beautiful place and have a wonderful talent for photography! Thanks for sharing with us all!
I'd love to visit your neck of the woods someday. Won't have the resources to do it for a while yet unfortunately.
