Hope that oil wasn’t piping hot, Keith!

It was pretty warm and smelly. Gave me a bruise through 2 shirts!

Crazy, it gave you a bruise through 2 shirts? Wow!

Any sign of the hose going before it blew?

Well, sure glad it wasn't hotter, and that it didn't go through your skin, as it certainly can, which I understand is a pretty serious injury!
I'd say 45 years is a pretty good run!

Can’t like that, I’m glad you’re okay. High pressure oil injected into the body has quite a few unique issues. Glad you find out first had.

Welp, dad and I just happened to get sprayed a while ago too. Not nearly as bad, basically a light shower. I got to the throttle quick.

Can’t like that either. Glad yous guys are okay. Is that considered cheating to have fire starter on the splits/ seasoning?

High pressure hydraulic oil does make a mess. I have seen large equipment have hose breaches. Wow what a mess.

Lol. We could sell it as match light firewood.
What fluid got on the muffler started a fire quick, glad it didn’t last long.

    Yikes! That would have sucked!

One of the reasons I pull mine in the garage after I'm done using it for the day. I want to limit the UV exposure to the hoses. It's only sitting outside when it's being used.

    40+ years is impressive!

Wow, another oil bath! Glad nobody was hurt.
Is that the oil filter gasket hanging out that I see there?
Think it was a lil loose, or just too much back pressure with that filter inline there?

This was the first time I ran 100% throttle w/ the new pump, I usually back down from max a small scoch. Definitely filter o-ring but I'm unsure if that's all. In the first pic I posted, is that threaded hole supposed to have a plug of some type? I don't recall noticing it during the relocation.
