Kinda my dream gun for deer and anything smaller. I already have an excellent 280 Ackley Improved if I ever need more firepower. I should be set for the rest of my lifetime.

Are we really set for the rest of our lifetimes. I probably said the same after the last GAP I had built and before I commissioned the next. My first was a 338 WM and most are magnums, 260 REM is my only non magnum. I need to step up the game.

How do you like the 260 REM? I was thinking of doing a 260 REM Ackley Improved. BTW, I'm on the opposite end of the scale on calibers mostly .224, .243 and .264's except the 280 AI lite-mag:) But, then again, our deer and bear in PA are nowhere near the size of your game in AK.

Love it. Nice to grab some 308 FL size to 7mm08 and then 260 and do a quick neck turn and just that fast some brass. Unless you have a bunch of time, I don’t know how available brass is. I like oddball stuff so I’m still in.

That seems like a whole lotta work. Looks like 260 REM brass is easily available from, Lapua, Alpha, Peterson, Nosler, Hornady, Starline...
BTW, I'm going to shoot my first PRS match tomorrow, so I did a quick trip to the range to double-check my 100 yd zero on my GAP PPR 6GT. Here's the 3-shot group. I definitely won't be able to blame the gun for any misses. 20250417_185417.jpg Ballistic-X-Export-2025-04-17 18_59_08.810008.png

Good luck, share with us your thoughts on the comp. If I have to buy brass for the 260 I get the labeled brass. But I have buds that give me 308, 243, 7-08 I will use it all it’s free. Kind of nice to be able to make what I need.
