We knew it was coming before we left for spring nreak. I moved the tractor and splitter to higher ground but no way to move 14 cord of wood. The back water of the flood, worst in 30+ years, moved it for me.

A few pictures to give you an idea. I may have 4 cord left. We picked up a bunch while kayaking and the creek bottom, for about a half mile, has firewood scattered all along it. I found one of my wood racks almost a mile down stream. Look closely in the trees in the pictures.

Better wear a helmet so you don't take a split to the noggin.

Hard to like this RB. Hopefully your home and buildings are safe and undamaged.

Few years back I had wood stacked close to the small river near us and the landlord mentioned flood waters. Luckily it never overflowed the bank after a some severe rainfalls.

If you need help putting up more wood I'd be glad to lend a hand.

Wow, that is really unfortunate. Hopefully your house and other buildings on the property were able to stay above the flood waters.

Been there and done that in 2021 when Ida sat over PA for a couple days. Lost every piece of our woodpile, the deck we had it stored on, and 2 campers.

That’s terrible. Lots of hard work floated away. Can’t like it.

I feel a bit sheepish posting about a couple three cords tipping over last weekend.
