Funny how many of us found out we were doing it wrong with one small saw all those years...

So far this year I've been using my XS036 most often as it's size suits the wood I can get to. It's an angry lil chit.
As it dries up some I'll be in the 460/661 trees. I think my 880 days are probably over.

My go-to is the Stihl MSE 170.
Corded electric. I love it. No shortage of reasons.

50cc is my tractor/buggy saw like American Express...don't go inna woods without it. I've used Husqvarnas mostly but really happy with the Echo currently on call. Tractor saw is enough for most things I encounter unknown and if it's not then then I'll retreat and retool. I don't think of them as firewood saws I guess but they do perform firewood duties.

I used the 60cc yesterday knowing I had a nice log to buck and a little noodling. Hadn't run it for a little while. Used it to top a blow down later on. Fine for either.

Felling....depends. Up to 16-18 I'll willingly use 50cc. Larger stuff I want some torque so when I mess up I can throttle out. lol

If I know I'm doing nothing but bucking logs of decent size I get the bigger saws (60, 70, 80).

If I have absolutely no idea when I'm getting into but for sure know that I am getting into something I want the 70 with a 24.

Sometimes I'll use a larger or smaller saw than I normally might just because I want to run it.

My main saw for many years was an Echo CS-310. Muffler modded, carb limiters off. 14" bar. Cut anything I needed. Then I discovered ported saws on YouTube. Well you know what happened after that...

That is my favorite style of all the Husqvarna saws. Never owned one but I really like that look.

Seems like most of my wood is cut with my 192T. I only bring out the 362 for larger wood. I was at a home show yesterday and a tree company had an 880 on display. That was the first time I actually saw one and my first thought was, that is huge. Way to much weight for me and way to expensive. It was impressive, though.

Id say 60-70% of my cutting is with my ported echo 2511p. Basically anything 8-9" and smaller.

Until I got a Stihl MS241 last year the 261 was my go to saw. For big stuff I seem to prefer my MS400. Hard to leave out a 500i when you own one. I try to keep somewhat of a rotation.
    Try! :emb:

The 880 is fun to buck with for about half an hour. Felling with a long bar it doesn't even start out fun.

Seems like I always have the MS170 with me on the tractor, cleaning up fence lines and around the edges of the fields. Then it's one of my 72cc JRED's
For many years it was my trusty old Husqvarna 340, it doesn't see much action anymore.

Forgot to mention. I'm loving the MS400C. The power to weight is awesome. It gets better every time I use it.

My Dolmar's were my most used and favorite saws, the 421 and the 5100s.
A few years ago I bought a Makita EA4300 from Home Depot Rental, it spends a lot of time with me on the tractor.
Lately my 550XP and the 572XP have been getting a lot of use.
I must have over a dozen saws, I try to rotate and use all of them.

This thread is poorly worded. It coule have been what is the BEST saw and the only answer is a ported 346XP with 357XPs close behind. My 562XPG makes a little more power and I like the heated handles a lot but hate auto tunes.

For a firewood saw cutting cable skidded log cut offs on log landings, the 395XP with 404 chipper chain and a hardnosed bar, old school.

Yeeeeears ago I used to weld up and regroove many hard-nosed bars. Don't hear of them being used much anymore.
