What you got? What you want? Why do you like them? How hard are they to clean? I have a couple silencers for rimfire applications. I like them pretty well. Silencer co White Sparrow and a SWR Spectre ii. Both work very well with my favorite being the SWR. It is smaller diameter meaning it interferes less with iron sights. No first round pop (Sparrow has a little). Stainless click together baffles allow ultrasonic and medal based cleaning. Not overly heavy. The Sparrow is a nice unit also with a monocore baffle that is easily serviceable with a unique clamshell/monocore design. Probably slightly more quiet at the ear than the SWR, but does have that first round 'loudness'. Lighter than the SWR (neither is uncomfortably heavy when mounted). I am shopping for a new unit and doing research. Interested in the Hoarders' opinions. Why not just buy another Spectre? Well, they are sortof still available but sortof not. Silencerco bought SWR out. They now sell a version of it they call Warlock. Unfortunately they decided to use aluminum baffles instead of stainless to save weight (and cost). So the Warlock is *only for .22lr and cleaning will be somewhat difficult. The Spectre version is rated for anything up to 5.7x28 (and I use it for that too). So...I gotta find something new. Because I absolutely love my AAC Tirant-9 I am drawn to the company (now owned by palmetto state armory) for more products (just bought a 30 caliber can of theirs) and looking hard at the two offerings they have...Halcyon & Element 3. I don't understand the new need to have a 'modular' tube so you can shorten or lengthen them (they still don't fit into holsters) but don't really have anything against it other than I know it increases cost to manufacture. The Halcyon is modular where the Element is not. Both are rated for calibers I need and both can be sonically cleaned. This one has my attention as well. Truly innovative. The threaded baffles have cutting edges on them and will clean the unit as you unscrew them. Wanting to see in person but have no where to do so. Little Bird — AB Suppressor The Dead Air Mask is claiming all the glory lately it looks like. I read some bad stuff about customer service from them and that's a killer for this industry because you will have no where else to go if needed besides the manufacturer. So I'm shying away from that unit, even though it is probably excellent. Beyond these I'm flailing. There are close to 100 different units available best I can tell. Easy cleaning is high on my list of attributes for a rimfire for obvious reasons. Size and weight are next because they will all mostly knock the sound down to similar levels. Thoughts? Feelings? Nonsensical input? Let's hear it!
Silencerco Switchback and Rugged Occulus have entered considerations. The pull of 'familiar' products is still strong for AAC. I think I have ruled out the Halcyon. For me, the Element is the better of the two. I kindof need to hurry this along or else I'm going to blow the budget on a new 9mm can rated for .357. lol
You may want to check out the Banish 22. I was going to get one but the place my son does a lot of business with had the SilencerCo Spartow in stock so we bought those. I still want to get a Banish, I have heard good things about the Dead Air as well
Will have a look see at the Banish. I keep seeing a lot of praise for the Rugged Oculus so I'm gonna look at those too.
My FFL is unable to locate a Element 3 can in stock via his suppliers. I can source one on my own and have it sent to him, but I'm trying to cut him in on some of the sale money vs just transfer fees. Guns are a side gig for him and I wish to see him succeed. Still considering others, but the AAC is at top of heap currently.
