After this upcoming week with the big thaw (40s-50s) I suspect the skunk cabbage will start poking out of the ground in the swampy areas.

Me too - although mine aren't as tall as yours

I'm just hoping it will get warm enough that my roof dumps since I haven't had a clear roof since February 5th with the frequent snowfalls. I'm also hoping I can beat some of the ice off my driveway.

The early bloomers have arrived! The Hellebores should keep blooming for at least the next six weeks or longer then they continue adding more foliage all summer long into late fall. They are becoming one of our favorites because not much grows good here that the deer don't eat and need very little sun.

Are those really a mini iris? They look more like something that comes from a bulb instead of a rhizome to me. And it seems just a bit early in the season. But IDK, lots of plans/flowers that I haven't seen (or don't remember seeing :picard:).

And after typing that, I did a Google search and see that the Iris reticulata is a very early blooming iris and is bulbous, so I learned something today

Yep, definitely an iris from that picture :). I guess I was thinking more of the German type iris yesterday which have the sword type leaves. Probably not enough coffee.

ACE hardware here has 1 cu ft potting soil on sale. Is the volume that is like 2.5' x 18" big bags I buy at Walmart? $2.50 seems to cheap for that size. Anyone know?
