    This was a marketplace find. I had the choice of this Elm or some hollowed out Maple. so here is the results from my splitter action today. 1 siberian elm 3-15-25.JPG

    Looks like it split pretty easy for you. :thumbs: Kind of rare for elm IME unless its dead..

    I normally split my firewood by hand, however after trying to split by hand on these larger pieces and this being Elm that was not working, so over to the splitter which made splitting much easier.

    Thanks for asking. I dont remember the age of my splitter, however it started life as a Agway horizontal splitter ( 1980's version) with many updates over the years. I have added a log lift, extended the top of the splitting wedge, added a winged sides to the splitting blade, and added full sizes 13" automotive tires. Its been a very good splitter over the years. I surly would like to see all the firewood that has been processed thru that splitter.
