Hit 80 today and set a new record. Tomorrow it cools off again. Going to get another fire going in the PM because temps will be dropping in the afternoon.

So far they have stayed west of me. The wind is starting to die down so that'll help the fire fighters get it all under control.

I can sure see and smell the smoke though.

Glad to hear! Is it humid there or do use swamp coolers? Our swamp cooler was really helpful during wildfires for the smoke.

I live on Grand Lake of the Cherokees. My house is 100 yds from the shoreline. It's too humid for swamp units to work well in my area. When I lived in SE New Mexico that was the cooler of choice.

Temps will drop overnight-back into the teens. Tomorrow we'll be lucky to break above freezing then teens again for lows.

At least the snow that was forecasted for tomorrow is no longer present in the forecast! :salute:

Welp. The weather rodeo appears to be over. No serious damage here. I watched the baro pressure drop 6 points in roughly an hour and listened to the wind howl. Rain came and went. The temp dropped from 70 to 58 with a snap of the fingers. Impressive example of mother nature at work. Guessing there have been folks adversely affected by this weather. Good luck to them.

The high for today has been met. Dropping into the high 20's tonight. The stove's nap is over! Freshly cleaned and reloaded. Ash and Elm with a chunk of Red Oak to boot. Feels good to have it warming us again. Our youngest granddaughter appreciates as well!

38/73. Birch. We hit a record 75f yesterday.

It has dropped 10 degrees since I woke up. Rain switching to snow this afternoon with lows in the teens overnight. I was going to wait until this afternoon to fire up the stove, but my wife’s vote was for starting it this morning, so that is what happened.

It was 76 yesterday after work. I stacked some wood I had split a few days ago. Then we sat on the deck, grilled burgers and ate out there. This morning it is 44 outside/66 inside. Lit a fire with some Ash and little pine for kindling. Low forecasted of 18 tonight. Might even turn the N.G. furnace back on later. 38 for a high tomorrow and 63 Monday silly weather pattern.

50 out when I got up today but the house was still 70. I may get a fire going later today if the temps drop much, like expected.

60/71 no fire here until Sunday evening. Rainy day ahead and even had some thunder and lightning earlier. We are meeting up with my sister and brother in law for a meal at Texas Roadhouse late afternoon.

May have burned the last fire of the season a few nights ago. Got mild quick and and the passive solar gain through the windows is keeping the house in the low 70s clear until bed time.
Any burning this month will likely just be for ambiance

18 now. And windy. Ended up with what could be called a trace of snow from overnight.
