Guy i work with asked if I wanted to clean up after a logging job at his dad's hunting property. Started out there yesterday its only about 5 minutes from my house and mostly oak and cherry. Got the first load hauled out yesterday hard to say but I think there's at least 10 more by the end of it.

Lots of work in harvesting from remnant tops left behind, but some good wood to be had. Cant beat having it that close to home. Keep the pics coming.

Tons of work. They really left a mess. Property owner was cool enough to cut some and help me load this time but the rest of it I'll be workin on my own. Good score though and close to home. I have plenty of dead ash to keep me busy at home but no oaks that I want to cut in my woods so nice to bring some home.

I love working up logging tops. Lots of good wood, requires less splitting and usually is left to rot. So close to home is a great added bonus!

Anyone know what kind of oak I'm workin with? Most of this will be going in ibc totes or single row face cord stacks for the next 3 years

Got out today and cut up some more oak. The cherry was cut for me by the property owner the first day I was out there. Getting pretty muddy as the ground thaws so just leaving wood piled to be picked up soon. Also scooped up this toolbox on marketplace today big upgrade for saw and tool storage, way better than ratchet straps and bungee cords holding everything to my flatbed.

Nice upgrade. Sometimes its not easy at the end of a cut for me to find room for tools/saws with the way I load wood.

Thanks was a decent deal couldnt pass it up. Yea, I run into that too. I prefer using my trailer when I can because of that and not having to unload right away

Reminds me of years back when I was a "part time" hoarder and the toolbox was in the way of my taking more wood. It was aluminum diamond plate and took quite a beating with full unbuckled logs being put in the bed. I later made it easy to remove so I could put more wood in there.

Good deal. Should keep you busy for a long time. I expect there will be off limits as deer season approaches.

Yea its his hunting property, I have until early summer to get what I can but he also said I can clean up there yearly if there's more down. I have enough at home to stay busy but nice to have a new spot close.
