24/73 white oak love this stuff. Made a fire after work and fell asleep 6 hours later still plenty of coals for a relight.
27/66 Ash/Elm Enjoying the mild temps and lack of wind. Livin is easy when it's this nice out. Really lets the stove loaf Starting to think about spring yard cleaning/trimming/cutting/splitting/stacking. Yikes. Back to my couch and coffee!
That's the tough part about this time of year. You start thinking about all the things that need to be done soon and the list keeps growing while conditions aren't right to start most of them.
35/70 heading down soon to reload the stove just heard the gas boiler thermostat trip. Ended up with 3" of snow. Had the saws prepped and ready but think I'll not play in the snow. Just grabbed the oil yesterday to change the splitter, think I'll go that direction. With longer daylight maybe I'll get a firewood run one evening this week. Warm up coming, seeing some 60's. Maybe do the oil in the mowers too.
House says -5 this morning.....................internet says -17. I'll pick the house thermometer! Don't think the below zero was predicted in either case.
31/73 white oak, cherry, and ash. Looks like were in the home stretch so Ill enjoy every fire I can. Got a bit over 3 years css with a few more log piles to work on. But once late April and early May gets here itll be on to mostly fishing/boat stuff and gardening.
23/66 Got some more snow yesterday. Took the dogs for a walk, looked at the shovels when we got back, figured the H with it! Some more snow this morning. We're talking dustings now, 1-2 inches at best. Upper 40's for highs today; low 50's tomorrow!
31 hitting mid 50s today. Just started a fire with oak. Which is my SS wood until next year. Calling for temps to be in the 60s monday and tuesday. Hopefully longer days will allow me to do some hoarding. Too many projects and not enough me.
Get up to 60 today, up to 70s by mid week. Hopefully last week was our last cold spell. Burning some pine this am.
