After reading your comment, I went back to look at the first page and realized it was started 10 years ago. So much has happened in the lives our furry friends since then.

It's a Schrader. As far as i know, built locally here in Niles, MI, in the 50s or 60s?

Wild, we had a Schrader for 20 years at my previous home. Except ours was stand alone on a pedestal. Wild, so my Colorado stove is from MI. Your's is only the 3rd one I've seen in use.

Ehh... idk where they were built i guess. For some reason i remember that but cannot find anything to back it up at the moment. Quick web search and i found someone on hearth say they were built in Colorado in the 70s.

Regardless, it's a freestanding pedestal stove. It's just backed up to a fireplace opening. When i bought the house it was a "slammer". I ran it that way until a saw evidence of a chimney fire. Then I got a stainless liner for it.

Well, this morning, i figured out where i got the thought that this Schrader stove was made here in Niles, mi.

The only part i couldn't find was that i remember reading that Schrader Stoves would sell their plans to local metal fab shops so that these heavy stoves didn't need to be shipped across the country. For all i know this could be the original Schrader Stove Plant.

So i found business records showing it was called Schrader Stoves of Michiana Inc, in 1977.

Now called Schrader Metal Fabrication. Shows the same address as Schrader Stoves of Michiana Inc.

Google street view of the address. Looks like they might be still doing business with the cars parked there. Otherwise pretty run down looking.

Poor Delilah is in heat. It is funny to watch her trying to get my other two girls' attention. At least she doesn't yowl, but I have found that she has the meowiest meow I've ever heard from one of my cats. Previously she just did chirps and a more vocal and intentional purr, with no meowing. Fortunately I'm awake anyway early mornings when she is at her noisiest. Hopefully she continues to progress with her socialization and I can get her to the vet for fixing before her next cycle. That would save everyone some angst.

She has been upstairs for a couple of weeks now (I closed the basement off for now). She now comes to me for pets on occasion thru the day, and will wind around my legs at times. But, she doesn't want me initiating contact yet. Spot and Rainey are fairly chill about it. Interestingly, Rainey is more of a playmate/bud to Lila and Spot is the one who is occasionally irritated by her. I really expected it to be the other way around. At any rate, the tension isn't palpable like it was when I was caring for Big Boy before his family was found. Pic from about a week ago. Rainey in front, Spot on stove and Lila is obviously the step child :D

wildwest , how is your Lila doing? Last I remember, she wasn't doing well. I hope she has improved, although I know you were thinking there were larger issues going on.

Like a child, they require constant supervision. Otherwise use a kennel. My last lab was not a chewer. This dog I have now isn't a chewer.

Hi BB, thanks for asking, she's not doing great. She's eating again and grooms again since the antibiotics (she looked awful when we took her to the vet), but not gaining any weight back. Bag of bones. She hasn't left the garage since then. She's in good spirits though, spends a ton of time in bed you helped me pick out, and there's a window up high she goes to sun herself.
