Thumbs down. Pellet stove exhaust/whole stove needs a deep clean. Shut it down, started a wood fire. Family is out tonight, husband picking up kid from choir conference. He made the fire for me last night, all I had to do was light it

Somehow that looks smaller than I envisioned. Not that I've ever seen one in person, so I'm not sure why I had the idea in my head.

The Wiseway is 52" tall at the vent outlet....27" wide (L TO R) and 17" deep
The heat tubes (Square tube) Form a sideways "W" from bottom to top

The Primary burn chamber , secondary burn chamber and the ash pan are all on the RH side at the bottom of the stove and have the spiral coil handles...
The draft is on the first length of the fire tube just upstream from the burn chamber.
Opening the draft slows the fire...Closing the draft allows more air to enter the burn chamber and gives a hotter fire.

Backwards from a regular wood stove operation......

These stoves work very much like the old sawdust burners from my grandparents time.

The sawdust was in a hopper above the firebox grate and the feed was controlled by a device in the hopper that controlled the flow of sawdust onto the grate......

    NO ELECTRICITY
Stove was in the basement and the heat rose through large ducts to the various rooms on all the the floors.

There was a heat control handle on the wall in the living room.. This adjusted the fuel feed up/down and off

You had to go to the basement and light the fire.....News paper with some fine kindling or other small combustibles were placed in the fore box on the grate at lit.....This started the draft and got the fire going.

After a few minutes the sawdust feed was opened and it was off to the rodeo......

Very little ash....Cleaning the fire box/grate was done through a square door.....Much like a wood stove door....

Looks like by the end of the week I should finally see my driveway again. A lot of the ice has reduced or melted away and after Sun & Mon which will be in the 20's, the rest of the week is back up into the 40's again.

Back isn't getting any better. PT makes it worse. See the ortho doc in 10 days (couldn't get in sooner), maybe now they'll do an MRI and we can find out WTF is going on with it. Fortunately with the warmer temps not using as many pellets so don't have to bring in as much every week.

I guess it is so skinny, that it looks a bit smaller. It is about 5" taller than my stoves (to the top of the extended hoppers), and it is a couple of inches wider. But, I'm used to seeing square pellet stoves, which makes them seem to have more of a "presence" in a room I guess.

    Yeah
These stove are certainly an ODD DUCK as far as aesthetics goes....
Just basically a twist on the rocket stove idea.......
Big deal with these is having a very good natural draft.....

Poor draft will result in a stove that will not work well

I will be watching for your comments on how well these units perform. Good to have someone who can be trusted to offer an unbiased assessment.

Ice out officially declared at our house today. Heavy rain last night washed the last of it away. No more wearing the ice cleats to get the mail , bring in pellets, feed the birds.

Have 12 bags of pellets left of a pallet ( plus still have 2 full tons left) which I'll bring in this weekend. Added to the 23 bags already stacked by the P43, will take us into the 2nd week of April if needed. Hopefully the temps stay mild from here on out. We've used 3 tons so far.

Gave the stove a good cleaning with the temps in the upper 50's today.

I too am at ice-out. And the paths have gotten a bit wider than they were on Monday, even if the height of the snow pack hasn't really changed. The cold air came rushing back in with the high winds earlier and the 1/8" of mud that was evident in some places should be frozen over again and stay that way until Monday or so.

We have a dirt driveway and an Amazon delivery van left a couple deep ruts that froze overnight. Lori has an appointment in Portsmouth this afternoon so with it supposed to get up to 40 or so by then it should have softened a bit so it doesn't feel like we're off roading when we leave.

Yesterday morning I headed down to the barn to bring up the outfit and the 1995 Green Suburban did not have any power steering or power brakes....Pump likely failed....But it worked fine Weds and was fine when I shut it off about 11 am

So I fought the beast to the level driveway near the house and unhooked the trailer and couple up our 2005 Suburban.

We headed to the plant and got another full load...Then unloaded it ....Total of 22 barrels full.

Ran Munchy this morning and did 4 barrels of stove ready material.....
Shut the big Whitfield off while we cleaned up the equipment so it was pretty well cooled off when we got back upstairs.
Big Boy got a deep cleaning and LBT
Fired it up a few minutes ago....

Weather is going to be yucky for several days.

We currently have 11 empty barrels (One dumpster full)

Next decent day we can go get another load.....(Load 5)

Depending on what the spring weather brings we might end up grabbing load 6

I like going into summer full up...Or close to it if we can......

It looks like he may not be selling the higher amp motor (Gleason Avery) anymore.
Pictures show 9 fin impellers rather than 11, and just look different.

    OK.
Looks like maybe he isn't selling to end users anymore.
I have my spare motor in now, and it's one of the 1.75 amp models, with 11 fin impeler.
If it dies it looks like i may have to go back to the one that came with the stove. 1.04 amps, and then i'm seeing 1.2 amp motors from various places.
Earth Sense has one of .95 amps, but with 11 fins.

If and when, i would likely look at that one.

How many square feet will you be heating with the Wiseway?

    You may have said already.
    Looks very intriguing.
