You can still do a whole lot of driving for $1200!

I agree!! It was only an hour drive for me, the savings was well worth it.

As you can see, I don’t have a sun canopy on my tractor. Do any of you have any experience with an “aftermarket” canopy? Once again, shopping for these is like trying to pick out the right Goldfish for your kid! o_O:faint: Top top of my head is bald and the sun will cook me without a hat on, I’d like to have a sun shade. :dennis: Any thoughts? I’d like to stay within a billion dollars! :makeitrain"

Call the dealer, the add on price for a canopy was around $500 for your tractor. Seems to be inline with what I’ve seen online, but couldn’t find the part number. I’m not a fan of Kubota’s new parts search/buy online website. I ended up at the dealer to get filters for the mini ex, and the dealer was having issues with it as well. Lots of part number changes and no cross references to the old numbers, etc.

When I bought my tractor the salesman said it was a $600 option. A piece of plastic and some fasteners.
Pulled a dead stump yesterday that my wife got her car hung up on.

Spent some time in the woods today before it got too windy to be out there. Something about 30mph + wind gusts takes the fun out of being in the woods. Got a few rub trees from the edges of the trails dropped and out to the wood yard.

Have been posting more green tractor pics lately than orange mini excavator pics. Was preoccupied this morning with our driveway washed out due to the MDOT road cross culvert being frozen again. Second time in two weeks and last night we got a ton of rain into this morning and temps in the high 40’s. Needless to say the snow pack has shrunk more than half, looks like 9”-10” left in the field, and everything’s a muddy mess. MDOT came and fixed the driveway and thawed the culvert pipe, so all is good for now.

Went up to the wood yard after lunch to cut the logs into 8’ lengths and add to the firewood pile. The pile is getting big, 8’ wide, 7’ high avg, and 20’ long, I didn’t include the couple feet at half height. Poor mini ex has done more wood related work in the last couple months, it’s probably forgotten to how to do dirt work.

Put the 4052R to work today. Cut up two hemlocks that blew over onto our trail. Shortest log was 24’ long and had to steer with the cutting brakes. Probably should have hauled an 8’ log in the grapple on the way out to give the front some weight.

    IMG_5560.jpeg IMG_5561.jpeg

Went to the next spot which is 3 blown over hemlocks, and started limbing and cutting them up to get out of the trees around them. This one’s 40’ long and 11” dia on the small end. There’s a 12’ butt log from this tree, and two more trees for tomorrow. Called it a day after this one, as it’s 160’ from the tractor to the trees, and I was feeling it. Guess I’m outta shape from the easy winter, gotta work on that! IMG_5562.jpeg IMG_5563.jpeg

With my foot and ankle finally healing up and the weather cooperating, I've been getting more and more tractor and chainsaw time. Here's some picts of recent work.
